This story is free from spoilers about Andor's Season One finale.

Andor is very much a beginning—even though, timeline-wise, it occurs smack dab in the middle of Star Wars lore. For many fans, bringing the scale and scope of storytelling down to Rogue One's Cassian Andor finally brought Disney+ a compelling and human story about the franchise's galactic resistance movement. Audiences could also see the proof in viewership numbers compared to other Star Wars series, with the critical consensus for Andor also boasting strong.

The show was quickly greenlit for another 12-episode-long season before the premiere even aired. According a report from Deadline, the Andor team was well into filming Season Two before production was forced to shut down due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. In a show of solidarity, Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy stated at the time that he believed the major studios were being "recklessly careless," and that the unions were "trying to preserve the industry."

As we wait for the actors to hopefully follow the writers' recent contract, it feels good knowing that Season Two will able to hit the ground running once they can return. There's a lot more Andor to explore. Until then, here's everything we know about Season Two so far.

What Could Happen in Andor Season Two?

According to Kyle Soller, who plays Deputy Inspector Syril Karn, Disney is "turning it up to 11" for Season Two. "There's just more people, more planets, more worlds," he told Esquire. "There's an amazing storyline about this new group of people." Andor has already taken us to many worlds across the galaxy, including the free trade city of Ferrix, Cassian's home on Kenari, the astrological heist location of Aldhani, the galactic senate on Coruscant, and the prison complex on Narkina 5.

Season Two promises even more locations and interesting characters, introduced after a time jump that places the series right before the events of Rogue One. "What's amazing about dropping back in for this season is the time gaps that are going to be instituted to take you up the full five years before coming into Rogue One at the end," Soller revealed. "So there's huge amounts of growth that's happening within the world of Andor, but also in Syril's world... and his tailoring." (The last bit, about the tailoring, is a joke. We think.)

Who Will Return for Andor Season Two?

Aside from Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and Soller's Syril Karn, early rebellion heroes Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona) and Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård) still have more of their stories to share. As does Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly) and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), who both originally appeared in Rogue One alongside Andor. It wouldn't be insane to believe that other characters from the film, such as Imperial Military specialist Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) or cargo pilot Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), will make an appearance in Season Two as well.

When Will Andor Season Two Debut?

Andor creator Tony Gilroy announced at a Star Wars Celebration event in London that the show’s second and final season will debut in August 2024. "We started shooting in November," Gilroy said. "We’re halfway. We will finish shooting in August, a year on post, and we’ll come out in the following August." With SAG-AFTRA voting to strike in July, that means Andor was just a month away from wrapping filming if they remained on schedule. He also revealed that the series ending after Season Two was, "a decision born of survival, but it’s been creatively potent... It’s good to know there’s an ending coming.”

Until then, don't think Disney is pumping the breaks on Star Wars content hitting our screens. Fans are still eagerly awaiting The Mandalorian movie, Skeleton Crew, and whatever follows the Rosario Dawson-led Ahsoka series. As Star Wars's real-life cinematic universe expands, so does the galaxy, far, far away.
