Only a few of Ana de Armas’ roles have unraveled on the big screen. Over the past few years, sure, she’s starred in multiple top-notch movies, like Knives Out, No Time to Die, and Blonde, but she’s also pursued a partnership with La Mer and become a global brand ambassador for Estée Lauder. That last role fits her pretty well, since, have you seen her skin?

The 33-year-old’s relationship with her skincare and beauty routine has developed as she’s gotten older, moving from Cuba to Los Angeles to become an actor full-time. These days, her main philosophy in viewing beauty is by using the products that work for her—not just whatever is trending.

“I have tried so many different products that are super expensive or have a super cool and fancy reputation but they just don't go with me,” she told Who What Wear. “Everyone should try to find their own way of feeling beautiful without following the crowd.”

Ahead, check out her skincare routine and the products she can’t live without.

She has very sensitive skin.

Ana's skin can get “very reactive to all the makeup I have to put on every day when I'm shooting,” she told Allure. The day before shoots, she avoids doing anything out of the ordinary with her skin—like exfoliating or getting a facial. She continued, “I try not to think about it because I swear to God, if I stress too much, I get a pimple.”

But the Blade Runner 2049 actor trusts La Mer deeply for making her skin feel better—specifically The Concentrate. “The more you use The Concentrate, the more you feel [the difference in your skin],” she said. “I bring it with me when I travel, through all different climates and environments. My skin is less reactive.”

Her skincare routine has gotten more complex over the years.

During her time as an actor, Ana has put a lot of effort into perfecting her skincare routine. But she also doesn’t mind taking shortcuts, which is exactly why she loves the Revitalizing Supreme Moisturizer Youth Power Crème from Estée Lauder. It's a multitasking cream that helps her nail multiple skincare routine steps with just one swipe.

“It’s lifting, hydrating, firming, and has a boost of collagen, plus the texture is amazing,” she explained in an interview with Glamour. She loves pairing it with the brand's Advanced Night Repair Serum.

In the morning, she’ll use her rose quartz gua sha to use with the second serum, she told Who What Wear: “I just massage my face for as long as I can until it isn't cold anymore. You can really feel the serum penetrate your skin—it gets nice and pink, the blood and circulation are flowing, and it's really, really nice. It helps me wake up!”

But she still has a pretty minimalist makeup routine.

It comes from her upbringing in Cuba, which taught her to view beauty as a natural thing.

“’Wash your face, brush your hair, stay out of the sun’—those were the things I heard,” she told Refinery29. “The philosophy was about taking care of your skin, washing it, putting some cream on. We didn't have much anyways, so it was all about working with what you got."

The The Gray Man star loves wearing mascara and blush, if nothing else, when it comes to makeup. "I usually end up putting my blush on my lips, or the other way around,” she told Refinery29. “For daily life, I like plain, simple makeup."

But when it comes to concealer, she opts for Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Stay-in-Place Flawless Wear Concealer. “It's incredible, and it's pretty much all I need on my face,” she told Who What Wear.

She wasn’t always aware of the sun’s capabilities.

“Growing up in Cuba, I was always at the beach in the sun,” she told InStyle. "I didn't have a good sense of skin care then. Now that I'm getting older, I'm way more aware of how important that is."

One of her fave ways to protect her skin? Coola’s Pina Colada Classic Body Organic Sunscreen Spray SPF 30. "COOLA sunscreen is incredible,” she told Marie Claire. “I love the scents. They're very familiar: It's all about piña colada and guava, so very close to home for me. I spray it all over, and I love the shine it gives your body."

She has to have lip balm on her at all times.

“Several of them, in fact, because I just keep losing them” she told Glamour. "That’s the best thing you can do for your lips.” Ana's a fan of most of Estée Lauder’s lip balms for their moisturizing benefits and the fact that they come in many colors, specifically the Pure Color Envy Color Replenish Lip Balm.
