Amy Schumer called the royal wedding a 'dog show'; fans called her a 'jealous pig'

With the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just days away, fans are preparing to watch the worldwide spectacle. But not everyone is buying into the hoopla surrounding the event — in fact, a recent YouGov poll found that two-thirds of Brits couldn’t care less about the upcoming wedding.

Amy Schumer fits into that category too. While chatting with the Australian radio show Fitzy and Wippa this week, the comedian let her true feelings shine as she talked about Markle’s big day, saying it will “suck” because it’s so public.

“This poor girl,” Schumer said. “Your wedding, everyone says it’s your day. It’s your day. She’s like, no it’s not. She has to meet all these foreign dignitaries she’s never met before, there’s so much pressure. Can you imagine having a worse wedding?”

She added: “That would suck. Her girls from high school aren’t going to be there. It’s like a parade, it’s like Westminster Dog Show.”

Clearly Schumer, who had a very private wedding in February, is not a fan of the public affair. Critics, however, did not appreciate the actress’s candor. They’re asking, did she have to be so mean?

Schumer has not responded to the backlash.
