  • Fans were incredibly moved by Sunday night's Idol episode.

  • Even host Ryan Seacrest posted an Instagram photo of himself crying while watching the latest season 4 episode.

American Idol is really pulling at heartstrings, including those of host Ryan Seacrest.

In the latest season 4 episode, judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie continued the audition process in search of the next big star. But before each Idol hopeful performed their song of choice, contestants shared a bit about themselves and their stories with Ryan. Not only did the 46-year-old longtime host get emotional while listening to their stories in real time, but also while watching them back on Sunday night.

“The auditions tonight were something else,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of himself where he appears to be crying. “Not even going to try and blame the onions in my guac.”

Based on the comments Ryan received, he wasn't the only person having a hard time holding back tears during Sunday night's episode.

“Love this show! 😢,” one person wrote on Instagram. "I can take the same pic 🤧," another Instagram follower said in response to Ryan's photo. “Such an emotional show tonight,” another added. “I’m always crying 😢😂,” a different person said. “Feeling all the feels tonight!” someone else tweeted.

On Sunday, fans were introduced to many incredible singers with powerful stories. Among them was Ronda Felton, a 19-year-old vocalist who opened up about how she and her mother experienced homelessness while she was growing up. Her story, coupled with her beautiful performance of "One Night Only" by Jennifer Hudson from Dreamgirls, prompted judge Lionel Richie to get emotional.

"Every once in a while, life happens and then you figure, ‘How do I get out of this situation?’ And God provides a crack in the wall. … That crack is just enough for you to get through," Lionel told Ronda. "And my dear, you just found that crack — because that was the moment that will change your life." And with that, Ronda was put through to the next round.

Such incredible stories and talent this season. We're excited to see who the show will discover next.
