'American Idol' Fans Rally Around Noah Thompson’s Girlfriend Over Her Emotional IG

After being crowned the American Idol 2022 winner, Noah Thompson only had one thing on his mind — reuniting with his family, including his girlfriend, Angel Dixon, and their son, Walker.
Throughout American Idol season 5 (overall 20th season), the country music singer excitedly talked about his girlfriend and son, and now he's back home in Kentucky with them. One day after the highly anticipated results were revealed on the ABC singing competition show, Angel opened up about what it was like seeing Noah take home the victory. In a series of Instagram photos posted on May 23, she gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse featuring Noah, Walker and Noah’s grandma Karen. What’s more, AI judge Katy Perry also made a surprise appearance.
“I’M STILL IN SHOCK YALL😆,” she wrote alongside the pictures. “This is so dang crazy!!! I just want to thank each and everyone of you for all the love and support you have shown Noah throughout his whole journey!! ❤️.”
She continued: “This has been a great experience that we will never forget. You guys are amazing, and I love y’all so much!! Thank you!!! 😊 Also, Walker LOVES Katy Perry, I think I cried when she held him🤣🤣 #teamnoah #americanidol.”
Reacting to Angel’s heartwarming family photos from the special night, American Idol fans had a hard time containing their excitement in the comments section. “So happy for you all! 🙌👏 I fell in love with your family’s story! I love seeing someone work so hard and get rewarded for kindness and hard work! Cheering and rooting for you all!! 👏👏,” one person wrote. “My heartttttt 😭😭 I knew he was the winner day ONE! Love this for you and your family. ❤️,” another added. “You all deserve this! Congratulations to you all! Noah is amazing and has a bright future ahead in this industry!” a different fan said.
Shortly before the incredible moment, Angel showed her support for Noah online and revealed that it was difficult to be apart from him. According to her Instagram, she and Noah have been dating for several years. Their first Instagram post together as a couple was back in September 2018.
“Please keep Noah in your prayers as he goes to the finale. Behind the scenes of all this the contestants work very hard each and everyday, making for long days and sleepless nights,” Angel wrote in a May 18 Instagram post. “I’m not gonna lie I’m ready for my man to be home 😂 it’s very hard to leave one another, but I know that God is in control and he has a plan!”
We’re hoping they’re getting lots of quality time with each other because there’s definitely plenty to catch up on.
