Spooky szn may be over, but American Horror Story season 10 news keeps rolling in. Creator Ryan Murphy just delivered a bunch of new details about his latest horror stories…yes, plural.

Here’s everything we know so far:

It’s happening. But you already knew that. After season nine—an ode to ’80s slasher films—aired, the FX anthology series was green-lighted through season 13. At the Television Critics Association 2019 winter press tour, FX Networks chairman John Landgraf announced the news and called AHS creators Murphy and Brad Falchuk “the undisputed masters of horror TV, having created the anthological limited series with American Horror Story and sustaining its success for nearly a decade as FX’s highest-rated series.”

The premiere date. August 25!

The cast list has been posted. First things first: Sarah Paulson returns! Now that that’s out of the way, enjoy this Instagram post from Murphy in which he announces who’s back (and who’s new) for season 10.

Here’s who signed on:

Exciting returns include Bates, Paulson, and Peters, who were deeply missed in season nine. Notably missing are Emma Roberts and Jessica Lange, two major players in the franchise.

But it’s the addition of Culkin in the number-two slot that may prove to be the most interesting choice. While his brother, Kieran Culkin, is killing it on Succession, the Home Alone child star has slowly been making his way back into the public eye.

“I enjoy acting. I enjoy being on set,” Culkin said in an Esquire cover story. “I don’t enjoy a lot of the other things that come around it. What’s a good analogy? The Shawshank Redemption. The way he gets out of prison is to crawl through a tube of shit, you know? It feels like to get to that kind of freedom, I’d have to crawl through a tube of shit. And you know what? I’ve built a really nice prison for myself. It’s soft. It’s sweet. It smells nice. You know? It’s plush.”

Kaia Gerber is joining the cast. “Very excited to announce that Kaia Gerber is joining the American Horror Story family,” Murphy announced on Instagram in March. It’s unclear if she’ll be in the story “by the sea,” “by the sand,” or both.

A spin-off is in the works! Murphy announced American Horror Stories on Instagram after a cast-reunion Zoom call. “American Horror Story cast Zoom call…where we reminisced about the good times…the spin-off we’re doing called American Horror Stories (one-hour contained episodes)…when we will start filming the next season of the mothership…and other stuff I cannot print,” the showrunner wrote in the caption on May 11. “It was so much fun and I’m glad we caught up. I miss everyone!”

The first poster is here. And it’s terrifying. One word: teeth. Murphy revealed the art in November 2020.

We finally have a title! Get ready for American Horror Story: Double Feature

We don’t know what it will be about…yet. According to Murphy’s Instagram post, there will be “two horrifying stories…one season.” One story will be set “by the sea,” while the other is “by the sand.”

But this new poster drops a hint. It was released June 24. So does this mean we can expect…aliens? Looks like it!

And this new teaser offers even more info. It was released July 27. It looks like we’re definitely getting sea monsters and aliens.

Wait, there’s more news. In a reply to one confused fan, Murphy clarified that we’re basically getting two seasons for the price of one. “It means TWO SEASONS for the fans airing in one calendar year! So double the viewing pleasure,” Murphy replied, per the Daily Mail. “One set by the sea (this cast already announced). A second by the sand (that cast announcement coming).”

Sarah Paulson was spotted on the set in April…with bright pink hair. See pics here.
