Amber Tamblyn, Eva Longoria, and More Band Together for PSA in Support of Brett Kavanaugh's Accuser

'He should not be confirmed.'

All eyes are on the Supreme Court following accusations made by Christine Blasey Ford, a Palo Alto professor, who says Donald Trump's SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her more than three decades ago. But while Kavanaugh “categorically and unequivocally” denied the claims, Hollywood is coming to Ford's defense.

This week many prominent women in Hollywood have come together to create a video in support of Ford's bravery, which also serves as a PSA to senators across the country to vote against a Kavanaugh confirmation next week. Actresses Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, Marisa Tomei, and Gabrielle Union appear in the video as assorted vignettes, all reading the same message.

“Dear Professor Ford, we know how difficult it is to stand up to powerful people," the message starts. "We want to thank you for publicly sharing your story of sexual violence. We can also imagine how shocking and overwhelming it must have been to have your truth shared on a national stage without your permission."

"You should be the decision maker about how your story is shared, if ever. We applaud your courage in coming forward for the public good. And we will be with you as you face the inevitable backlash. You are strong, and you are not alone. You are a survivor. And millions of us have your back. You and your testimony are credible. We believe you. Signed, your sisters.”

Other actresses, such as Amy Schumer, didn't appear in the video but circulated it on social media.

Another prominent woman in Hollywood, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, also signed a letter in support of Ford. She and Ford attended the same high school.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is set to hold a hearing to address the allegations on Monday—a hearing that will be the deciding factor in Kavanaugh's ascension to the Supreme Court. Ford is reportedly willing to testify, pending an FBI investigation before the hearing takes place.
