If you're looking for low prices on some of the most in-demand products sold at Amazon, you can't miss the annual Prime Day event. Held once a year, Prime Day is your chance to snap up some of the best goods and gadgets at prices that are better than Black Friday. And you're going to want to get your shopping list ready, because Prime Day is happening soon.

When is Prime Day?

Prime Day 2022 will kick off on Tuesday, July 12 at 3 A.M. Eastern time, and it's an event just for Amazon Prime members. You'll be able to shop deals through July 13.

But just because Prime Day is scheduled for July 12 doesn't mean you should wait until that date to scout out what's on sale. The deepest discounts are typically saved for the first day of the event, but low prices can be found on everything from home goods to kitchen gadgets and gear to outdoor items at any time. Amazon is known to release early Prime Day deals in the days - and weeks - leading up to the shopping event.

In fact, you can actually start shopping for some great Prime Day deals today.

What to expect on Prime Day

Pretty much everything goes on sale on Prime Day. You can expect plenty of items within Amazon's far-reaching inventory to see discounts of anywhere from 5 to 30 percent - or more.

Tech gadgets tend to get the most attention and some of the deepest discounts during pre-Prime Day sales and on Prime Day itself. However, you don't want to overlook the home and kitchen categories. There will be plenty of discounts and deals to shop if you're looking for cookware, utensils, serveware, and even small kitchen gadgets and appliances. Popular brands like DeLonghi, SodaStream, and more will see discounts on their product lines.

Shopping for items you can use for outdoor cooking at home or while you camp and travel? You're also likely to find steep discounts on summer-ready gear, accessories, and kitchenware that you can bring along on all of your adventures.

Look for deals on these brands and at retailers beyond Amazon

Amazon's early Prime Day announcements suggest that you'll find steep savings on products from brands like iRobot and SharkNinja, along with Amazon's own brands. Prime Day will also bring Amazon's lowest-ever prices on products from Sony, Bose, and GE.

Additionally, you'll want to look beyond Amazon for deals. Because the annual Prime Day event is such a big shopping "holiday", increasingly more retailers are trying to compete with deals of their own. Target, Best Buy, and Walmart are just a few of the retailers who typically offer similar deal days and discount events on the very same dates as Amazon's Prime Day.

Shop these early deals today

Prime Day might officially run for two days, but it's really a multi-week affair. Amazon recently announced via email that Prime Day deals will begin for Amazon Prime members on June 21.

But deals are already live - meaning there's really no need to wait to score a Prime Day discount. Here's a sample of just a few of the early Prime Deals you can shop right now:

Last year, everything from pressure cookers to toaster ovens to air fryers saw great sale pricing for Prime Day. And this year, you can expect similar deals, including newly-released products.
