There was an amazing proposal on 'The Amazing Race'
It was a joyous occasion for team Ocean Rescue — Lucas Bocanegra and Brittany Austin — on The Amazing Race when, after only 9 short years together, Lucas decided to pop the question. This came as a surprise to Brittany, but Lucas had it planned all along.
Earlier, when he was alone with the camera, Lucas said, “She’s the one I want to marry. She’s the one I want to be with. And my plans were to propose to her somewhere on this trip, and I’ll definitely know when the right moment is.”
A day before, things weren’t looking so rosy for Lucas and Brittany. They were falling behind and arguing to the point that she was in tears. But the special day happened in Les Baux de Provence, France, when they finally got their first win — along with a trip to Bali, a place they’d always wanted to go. This was the right moment Lucas had been waiting for. Two other teams were close behind and showed up just in time to watch Lucas pull a ring from his pocket, get on one knee, and ask Brittany to marry him.
A tearful Brittany answered, “Of course.”
The Amazing Race airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
