This Amazing 'Pan Solo' Star Wars Bread Sculpture Is 6 Feet Tall

A mother-daughter baker duo from California have managed to win over the internet with their larger-than-life Han Solo-inspired bread sculpture. The New York Times reports that it took One House Bakery co-owners Hannalee Pervan and Catherine Pervan one month to bake and piece together the six-foot sculpture they've dubbed Pan Solo. Additionally, to make the recreation of Han Solo frozen in carbonite, the bakers used a dough called dead dough (a yeast-free, ornamental dough).

You can find Pan Solo outside of the Pervan's One House Bakery in Benicia, California, next to a chalkboard that reads, “Our hero Pan Solo has been trapped in Levainite by the evil Java the Hut.”

Unsurprisingly, many people who have come across the towering sculpture made of flour, water, and sugar have been a bit skeptical.

“People are just super interested by it, and you see people smelling it and poking it and they’re just like, ‘What is going on?’” Hanalee Pervan told The New York Times. “They kind of don’t believe you that it’s made out of dough.

While Pan Solo might be their grandest project yet, it certainly isn't their only bread-y achievement. In the past, the One House Bakery team has baked up a handful of themed treats, including a Game of Scones tribute that featured a White Walker made of bread and an iron throne made of baguettes. Now that's a throne worth fighting over.

And in case there are any Pan Solo doubters, the Instagram page for One House Bakery provided several photos showing how they made it.
