Kate Winslet has been a household name for like, ever. From her breakout role in 1997's Titanic to her portrayal of English rose Iris in the festive classic The Holiday, it's safe to say, the 47-year-old has some incredible credits to her name.

But now, it's her daughter, Mia Threapleton's time. While the 22-year-old has been quietly on the scene for a while, she's only been cast in small roles to date. From 2020's Shadows and 2022's Dangerous Liaisons, Mia recently landed her first major role in the Channel 4 I Am... series - a collection of female-led dramas featuring some of Britain's leading actors.

Starring alongside her famous mother in I Am Ruth, Mia plays Freya, a teenager who is "retreating into herself as she becomes more and more consumed by the pressures of social media." And while Winslet perfectly captures the role of a concerned mother, it's

Threapleton's performance that has got fans speaking.

Taking to Twitter, viewers of the show have commended her acting skills, adding that while they already know her mother is one of the best female actors out there, it's Mia that really shone in the film-length drama.

"Just watched @Channel4 I Am Ruth. A very hard watch but incredible performances - not only from Kate Winslet but her daughter, Mia Threapleton, is a revelation. A bright future ahead for sure," one fan said, as another wrote: "We all know Kate Winslet is a world-class actress but please can we talk about young Mia Threapleton’s performance in I am Ruth. Outstanding #iamruth."

A third even called for Mia to be awarded for her acting skills, writing: "Having seen Mia Threapleton as Freya in 'I Am Ruth', I definitely want to see her receive a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her performance..."

And while a fourth called the drama "a true masterclass", with "astonishing" performances, it looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I Am Ruth is now streaming on All 4.
