NEW YORK (AP) — As you start to find out what Mary Trump says about her uncle, Donald Trump, you can see why the president and his brother wanted to get her book blocked. There aren't any huge bombshells, but it does paint an unflattering portrait of Trump. The book says he paid someone to take an SAT test — and got his sister to do his homework for him. Mary Trump also feels a second term for the president would be a disaster. She says if Trump wins again, “it would be the end of American Democracy.” In her book, “Too Much and Never Enough,” Mary Trump says the president was shaped by a lack of acceptance from a demanding father and Trump's own self-centered personality, lack of empathy for others — and ability to hold grudges for a long time.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Were they needy? Or just greedy? The Treasury Department is out with a list of those who applied for loans under the Paycheck Protection Program, designed to help small businesses survive the coronavirus pandemic. But some of those who applied and got loans are celebrity-linked companies you'd think wouldn't need government help. Among those getting loans is a clothing line by actress Reese Witherspoon. Also getting loans: Kanye West's Yeezy apparel line and a company that did a website for Tim McGraw and his wife Faith Hill. In each case, the companies that got help were entities that weren't part of the celebs' main source of income.

TUCKER CARLSON BLASTED FOR SAYING DEMOCRATS “DESPISE” U.S.

NEW YORK (AP) — Lately Tucker Carlson has been getting high ratings for his nightly show on Fox News. Now, he's getting low marks for his criticism of Democratic leaders. During his Monday broadcast, Carlson declared Democrats should be disqualified from running the country because they “despise” it. The comments were met with swift and widespread condemnation by Democrats. Joe Biden's campaign accused Carlson of uttering “hate speech” under the guise of being a journalist. During his show, Carlson also criticized U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois — a Democrat and former military helicopter pilot who lost both legs in a 2004 attack in Iraq. When Carlson said she was “a deeply silly and unimpressive person,” she tweeted that Carlson should “walk a mile in my legs” — then tell whether she loves the country.

WNBA CO-OWNER CRITICAL OF LEAGUE'S EMBRACE OF BLM, SOCIAL JUSTICE

NEW YORK (AP) — The co-owner of the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA is bucking new league rules that let players put slogans like “Black Lives Matter” on their warm-up gear. Kelly Loeffler has sent a letter to the league's commissioner objecting to plans to promote social justice during the season. Loeffler is a Republican U.S. senator seeking re-election in the fall. She says players should wear an American flag on their gear. She says, “we need less - not more politics in sports.”
