It's back! HGTV's renovation competition series Rock the Block is returning for a second season and already things are looking fierce.

As seen in the trailer above, it's no longer an all-female showdown where each designer competes independently. This new season will feature teams composed of HGTV's biggest design stars, both male and female.

Excited? We’re already making bets on which design duo we think will bring home the gold! Here's everything we know so far about HGTV's Rock the Block season two.

When will Rock the Block season 2 premiere?

The second season of Rock the Block will premiere on Monday, March 8, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV. It will also be available to stream on discovery+ that day.

Which designers will compete on Rock the Block season 2?

In the second season of Rock the Block, there will be eight competitors. However, unlike season one where it was every woman for herself; season two will employ two-person teams—which will include both male and female designers, as well as some two of our favorite HGTV couples!

The teams are as following:

  • Alison Victoria from Windy City Rehab and Mike Holmes from Holmes On Homes

  • Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent from Nate and Jeremiah: Save My House

  • David Bromstad from My Lottery Dream Home and Tiffany Brooks from upcoming series 50K Three Ways

  • Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt from 100 Day Dream Home

Chicago's Alison Victoria is the only season one contestant who be returning for season two. In season one, Victoria competed against Leanne Ford of Restored by the Fords, Jasmine Roth of Hidden Potential, and Mina Starsiak Hawk of Good Bones.

Who will host Rock the Block season 2?

Ty Pennington, former host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and current host of HGTV's Ty Breaker, will host Rock the Block season two. As a refresher, the series' freshman season was hosted by Drew Scott of Property Brothers fame.

Who will judge Rock the Block season 2?

HGTV announced that there will be a rotating judging panel of 11 design and renovation experts.

Judges/judging teams include:

  • Flip or Flop host Tarek El Moussa and Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young will be judging kitchen spaces.

  • Flip or Flop Nashville host Page Turner will be judging living room and foyer transformations.

  • Flipping Virgins host Egypt Sherrod and husband Mike Jackson will be grading designers' on their main bedroom suites.

  • Bargain Mansions host Tamara Day will be evaluating basement renovations.

  • HGTV newcomers, interior designer Carmine Sabatella and landscape designer Mike Pyle will be deliberating on the outdoor spaces.

Flip or Flop Atlanta's Ken and Anita Corsini will join Rock the Block season one champion, Jasmine Roth, for a final home walk-through. They will choose the winning team.

Where will Rock the Block season 2 take place?

As of right now, HGTV has not revealed the exact location. However, guest judge Heather Rae Young took to Instagram recently to announce that she and her fiancé were judges. She wrote “Tarek and I flew down South to judge what I think is the most important room in the house, the kitchen!” That being said, “down South” definitely does not sound like Los Angeles, where season one took place.

What is Rock the Block: The Confessionals?

Fans can catch exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and team interviews from the series in Rock the Block: The Confessionals. This six-episode miniseries will stream exclusively on discovery+ starting March 8.

How will Rock the Block season 2 be different from season 1?

Besides introducing teams to the competition, HGTV also noted that designers will be given a $225,000 renovation budget this year—a big jump from season one’s budget of $175,000.

Just as in season one, designers will be expected to transform the homes in just four weeks. At the end of the month, each house’s property value will be appraised. The team behind the home with the highest property value will win the competition and officially *rock the block.*
