On Thursday, Justin Timberlake and his Palmer co-star, Alisha Wainwright, were seen holding hands at New Orleans bar The Absinthe. The Sun posted photos of the two looking intimate; Wainwright had her hand on Timberlake's knee. In another photo, they were holding hands under the table. But Wainwright's rep quickly shut down any speculation in a comment to Entertainment Tonight: "There is no validity to the speculation."

A source who was also at the bar told ET that this was an innocent gathering among friends. Cast and crew from Palmer, the movie Timberlake and Wainwright are shooting in New Orleans, were also there.

Timberlake was married to actress Jessica Biel on October 19, 2012, at a wedding in Puglia, Italy. Together, they share a 4-year-old son, Silas.

"Jessica and Justin are true best friends and that’s why they work so well," a source told Us in 2018. "They love spending time together. They don’t have to be doing much, but they are still laughing and having a good time."

Like any publicly visible couple, their ups and downs have been recorded in tabloids and on celebrity news sites. In 2011, he told Vanity Fair a little about the heartbreak that he'd endured after he and Biel split that year after a long relationship. This was the year before they got married.

"I would rather not talk about her, because it's hurtful for me," he said at the time. "It's unfortunate that even though you make the effort to say something, which I tried on for size, people do what they want to do," Timberlake said then. "I don’t want to say much more, because I have to protect things that are dear to me—for instance, her. She is the single-handedly most significant person in my life. In my 30 years, she is the most special person, OK? So I protect it, and until somebody shows me what would be more fulfilling at this point, that’s what I have to do."
