Want to play a game? If you're anything like us, you were obsessed with Alice in Borderland when it's second season dropped on Netflix last year.

The Japanese sci-fi thriller follows a gamer transported to a parallel universe, where he and his friends have to compete in dangerous games to try and make it out alive.

But, after that series finale, will there be a third season of Alice in Borderland? From the cast to the potential plot and more, here is everything you need to know.

What is Alice in Borderland about?

Based on the best-selling manga series of the same name by Haro Aso, Alice in Borderland follows Arisu (Kento Yamazaki), a gamer who is transported to a strange, abandoned version of Tokyo, Japan in which he and his friends have to compete in dangerous, sadistic games in order to stay alive. Seriously, it's so good.

Will there be a season 3 of Alice in Borderland?

Get ready for more twists, turns and heart-stopping tension as season three of Alice in Borderland has been confirmed by Netflix.

The news broke on 27 September, with a short teaser video on X (formerly Twitter), telling fans: "You may draw another card. Alice in Borderland will return for season 3!"

The renewal came nine months after season two dropped on Netflix, so we can't wait to hear more.

Who will be in the cast of Alice in Borderland season 3?

Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya will be back as Arisu and Usag for season three of Alice in Borderland.

In their announcement, Netflix said: "With Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya reprising their roles as Arisu and Usagi in Season three, fans can look forward to witnessing the evolution of their characters in the ever-dangerous landscape of Borderland.

"Shinsuke Sato's continued direction will also ensure that the series maintains its trademark intensity and cinematic excellence."

As for the rest of the cast, we'll have to wait and see but here are who we would expect to return for the third instalment:

• Nijiro Murakami as Shuntaro Chishiya

• Ayaka Miyoshi as Ann Rizuna

What will be the plot of Alice in Borderland season 3?

At the end of season two, we think Arisu and his friends have managed to escape the twisted game and make it back to the real world, with them having no recollection of their time in Borderland. But, the shocking reveal of the Joker card means that things aren't over.

So, we could expect season three to see Arisu, Usag and the rest of the fighters return to compete in more tense, sadistic games to try and escape Borderland once more.
