Alia Bhatt Is Gucci's First Indian Global Ambassador

Global superstardom is on the cards for Alia Bhatt, who was just announced as Gucci’s first global ambassador from India. Following her successful debut at the Met Gala 2023 red carpet, the most gatekept fashion event of the year, Bhatt was perhaps the obvious choice for an expansion in the fashion space.

The acclaimed star, whose performance at the recent Golden-Globes-nominated film RRR has been tracking the spotlight all over the world, is making major moves in the global scene. She might just have become a familiar face in Hollywood with Heart of Stone, but Alia Bhatt has been on the radar for just a hot minute and she's now ready to conquer fashion.

The star will make her first foray into the fashion industry by attending Gucci’s upcoming Cruise 2024 showcase in Seoul, South Korea. She will be joining the ranks of global ambassadors at Gucci such as Dakota Johnson, Hanni from the K-pop group NewJeans, and Harry Styles.

Apart from Bhatt, up till now, only a handful of Indian faces have explored the fashion territory on such a global scale, which includes the likes of Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. This new move from a mega luxury house, following suit of competitors will perhaps signal a change in the global perception of the power of Indian talent.
