Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar Accidentally Wore the Same Outfit to Congressional Orientation

"Full twin mode with my partner in justice."

Here's a familiar scenario: You walk into a party (or school, or an event) and you spot one of your friends wearing the exact same outfit that you're wearing. First, you think to yourself, Should I change? But you quickly realize that's impractical. Then you remember that great minds think alike and two perfect outfits are better than one, so of course you post a selfie video sharing your matching moment with the world.

Well, this is exactly what happened when Representative-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) went to their congressional orientation on November 27 and realized they'd selected the same exact blazer for the occasion. On Twitter, Ocasio-Cortez posted first "@IlhanMN and I both arrived at Congressional Orientation today... wearing the same outfit." Omar later shared another video adding, "full twin mode with my partner in justice @Ocasio2018 #doubletrouble."

Since the November 6 election, fashion has been a topic that both Ocasio-Cortez and Omar have had to address. Omar, who wears a hijab for religious purposes, is currently working on a bill that would reverse an outdated rule banning headwear on the House floor. And for her part, Ocasio Cortez had to address a reporter who took a picture of her outfit from behind as a way to assert his feelings about her "struggles."

If this video is any indication of the sort of moments we're going to get from these two "partners in justice" as they begin their careers in Congress, then we can't wait to see what's next.
