ALDI is well-known for its low prices. The fan-favorite grocery store has been a lifesaver for many shoppers during the last few years of rising prices, offering bargains when there are few to be had.

Now, defying persistent inflation, ALDI has announced it is lowering prices on over 250 products. You heard me right—hundreds of products are going on discount for the summer. The grocer "is planning to pass along $100 million in savings through Labor Day" to shoppers. ALDI offered similar price reductions last year, but the estimated amount of savings is nearly double for 2024.

Shoppers will find lower prices on a range of "summer essentials," from picnic and BBQ-friendly items to travel-ready foods. David Rinaldo, President of ALDI U.S., said in a press release that "ALDI is always looking for ways to help customers save money, but with more experts warning of persistent inflation, the time was right to deliver even greater discounts on our already low prices...”

It's nice when a discount grocer works hard to live up to its name, and I know it makes me more inclined to shop at the retailer this summer. Bonus: many of the items are certified organic.

While ALDI did not disclose exactly when these prices will take effect, they're set to be available "all summer," so you're sure to see reductions at your local store by Memorial Day. Here's a small sampling of the many products with prices slashed:

  • Simply Nature Organic Granola Bars (was $3.99, now $3.49)

  • Family Pack Chicken Breast* (was $2.49, now $2.19)

  • Season’s Choice: Frozen French Fries 32-ounce (was $2.79, now $2.49)

  • Season’s Choice: Frozen Blueberries 24-ounce (was $3.99, now $3.49)

  • Simply Nature: Organic Pinto/Kidney Beans (was $1.16, now $0.99)

  • Simms: Summer Sausage (was $4.49, now $4.19)

  • Southern Grove: Sunflower Kernels 16oz (was $3.39, now $2.79)

  • USDA Choice Black Angus Sirloin Steak* (was $8.49, now $6.99)

Items marked with an asterisk (*) are only discounted through 7/10/24.

ALDI also plans to add another 800 (!!!) stores across the U.S. in the next five years. With this kind of aggressive growth, it's only a matter of time before just about everyone in America can enjoy shopping ALDI's low prices.
