We think we just found the perfect storybook: Wade Through the Pandemic—available on Amazon Prime for $13.99—by five-year-old Wade Williams and his father Joshua Williams, who hail from Albany, Georgia and currently reside in Atlanta.
As we learned from Savannah's WTOC 11, the thoughtful youngster initially approached his dad about the idea of creating a book to help others navigate this difficult moment in history. "When I heard about it, I was shocked a little bit, like, wow, really somebody so young that just is really thinking about others,” Joshua told the news outlet. The 24-page illustrated book tackles topics such as Wade’s grandmother getting coronavirus and his mother giving birth to his sister amidst the global health crisis. Praising the book, one Amazon reviewer beautifully wrote, "Thank you Wade for helping my [three-year-old] twins understand this scary, overwhelming pandemic and why everything has changed. I'm so happy I saw this on Atlanta Meme's IG! Proud of my hometown keeping 'each one, teach one' alive! Every parent of a small child should read this!"
Clearly, Wade and Joshua Williams have touched many readers with their heartfelt creation. “It feels good,” Wade told WTOC 11 of getting his book out into the universe. And quite the book it's been: Currently, the tome is #13 overall on Amazon for books and #1 in both the category of Children's New Baby Books and also Children's Action & Adventure Books.
