The Alarming Reason Why Varys Took Off His Ring On Last Week's 'Game of Thrones'
A new theory speculates that there's a very specific reason Varys took his ring off during Sunday's Game of Thrones.

So much happened during Sunday's episode of Game of Thrones that my brain is genuinely having a hard time processing everything. But now that the dust (er, ash) has settled, I have some questions. Actually, just one question: why did Varys take off his ring and hide it right before being executed?
Like, sure, maybe our man Varys didn't want to be wearing a pinkie ring (only one step up from a toe ring) in his final moments of life. But Buzzfeed came up with a truly excellent theory about why Varys ditched his jewelry, and it directly relates to a previous theory that he was trying to poison Daenerys.
You can read about the ins and outs of that theory over this way, but assuming Varys *was* trying to poison Dany, his ring could be the way he was doing so. Sounds weird, but Game of Thrones has a history of using jewelry as poison. In fact, Olenna used a poisoned stone from Sansa's necklace to kill Joffrey.
If Varys was using his ring to poison Dany, it was made abundantly clear that the ring is still lying around his room ready and waiting to potentially be used in Game of Thrones' final episode. Which begs the question: Is someone gonna use that ring to kill Dany next week?
