Al Franken Accuser: ‘I’m Not Calling for Him to Step Down’ (Video)

Leeann Tweeden, the Los Angeles radio host and former model who has accused Al Franken of sexual misconduct, said she’s “not calling for him to step down” as a U.S. senator.

“I didn’t do this to have him step down,” she told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Friday. “I think Al Franken does a lot of good things in the Senate.”

“You know, I think that’s for the people of Minnesota to decide,” Tweeden said when asked by Robin Roberts about the “Saturday Night Live” alum’s political future.

On Thursday, Tweeden wrote that Franken engaged in unwanted sexual conduct while the two were rehearsing for a 2006 USO Tour sketch in which he would kiss her on the lips.

According to Tweeden, when she relented to Franken’s insistence they rehearse the kiss, he grabbed her by the back of the head and forced his tongue down her throat.

“I immediately pushed him away with both of my hands against his chest and told him if he ever did that to me again I wouldn’t be so nice about it the next time,” Tweeden said.

Her post also included a photo of Franken posed with his hands hovering over her breasts her while she slept. The story — and photo — went viral yesterday.
