- This is the second time Simon has stopped Ansley mid-performance during season 14 of AGT.
- Ansley's fate will be revealed on Tuesday, July 30. If she makes it through, she'll be a quarterfinalist and go up against golden buzzer winners Kodi Lee, Joseph Allen, and more.
No, Simon ... not again!
As seen in the below preview clip from Tuesday night, judge Simon Cowell stopped America's Got Talent season 14 contestant Ansley Burns during her performance of Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl" during judge cuts.
Fans will remember that the former American Idol judge interrupted the 12-year-old vocalist during her initial audition because he didn't like the "horrible, horrible backing track" she was using while belting out Aretha Franklin's "Think."
"I don't think we can judge you properly on this, I really don't," Simon told Ansley in round one. "We really like you, but that was terrible. If you're going to sing Aretha, you've got to have a great track."
Thankfully though, when Ansley came back after a sip of water and sang the song a cappella, she won over Simon, Howie, Gabrielle, and Julianne Hough, and got a pass to the next round.
This time though, it won't be as easy. Just like in the other judge cuts episodes, only seven out of 18 acts will make it through to the quarterfinals. And even if Ansley makes it to the live shows, she'll be up against some tough competition, including singers Kodi Lee, Jospeh Allen, Sophie Pecora, Chris Kläfford, and Luke Islam.
Regardless of Ansley's fate on the show though, the young singer appears to be in good spirits. She tweeted last Friday that she "can't wait" for everyone to see her second audition on Tuesday night. Maybe this means that she did make it after all and Simon stopped her second audition for a good reason. Soon, all of our questions will be answered ...
