Thanks to Kylie Jenner I finally bought a pair of 'dad shoes' — and here's my verdict

I was a late adopter of dad shoes. For years, I rejected comfort in favor of the leg-lengthening effects of a heel. Now I have to apologize for my hideously disfigured feet when I get pedicures — so flats are just about it for me.

Still, I’ve always shied away from dad shoes. The bulky soles invalidated the years of suffering I endured in the name of “flattery.” (Cringe.)

Something about the Adidas Originals Ozweego ($110) made me change my tune, though. Maybe it’s because my dad had a near-exact version of them when I was growing up — the sneakers are modeled closely after a ’90s style that light up my nostalgia receptors. Maybe it’s because my feet were screaming at me when I was trying to break in a pair of Converse last week.

Or maybe Kylie Jenner made me do it.

The 10 Ozweego colorways range from classically ‘90s to definitively modern, and they’re taking over Instagram. Scroll for our favorite ways to style the Ozweego.

I’ve never been so comfortable in a pair of shoes. I’m letting go of all the pointy toes and stiff leather in my closet — no matter how much I tried to break them in, I couldn’t change them. The Ozweego coddles my feet and treats them right.
