Adele's long-awaited red carpet return came at last this week, as she stepped out in London ahead of the 2022 Brit Awards.
Not surprisingly, her attendance was a focal point of the evening. The multi-Grammy winner, who released her latest record, 30, in November, performed live on the Brit stage and took home three accolades for Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Mastercard Album of the Year.
Aesthetically, Adele was a vision — of style, elegance, and perhaps something else too, according to folks who speculated furiously about the meaning behind this enormous diamond on her left-hand ring finger.
Since the "Easy on Me" singer is currently in a relationship with sports agent Rich Paul, whom she's been spotted enjoying various pro basketball games with over the past six months or so, people naturally started to wonder if Adele's ring meant the notably private couple had gotten engaged.
Well, Adele has now — very tangentially — addressed the engagement chatter in a new interview appearance. Responding to a direct question from The Graham Norton Show's host asking whether her Brit Awards jewelry foreshadowed future marriage plans, Adele simply noted that her desire to maintain privacy in her personal life would absolutely apply to an engagement.
"If I was [engaged], would I ever tell anyone if I was or wasn't?" she replied. Some of the artist's additional comments, wrapped up in a discussion about rescheduling her Las Vegas residency, prompted further musings from fans about the status of her relationship.
"It is absolutely 100% happening this year," she said of the performance series, which was scheduled to begin in January but postponed at the last minute. "It has to happen this year because I've got plans for next year. Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!"
Engagement rumors involving Adele and Rich emerged soon after reports surfaced suggesting the two had actually split up. She debunked those claims in an Instagram post ahead of the Brit Awards, writing: "Hiya, so I'm really happy to say that I am performing at the Brits next week!! Anddddd I'll also be popping in to see Graham for a chat on the couch while I'm in town too! I'm looking forward to it! Oh, and Rich sends his love ♥️."
Marvin Harrison Jr., Fanatics said, “rejected or ignored every request” from the company while refusing to fulfill obligations of their contract that was signed last May.
