Mark your calendars, everyone! Adele will make her Saturday Night Live hosting debut next Saturday, October 24, with music guest H.E.R.
Following NBC's official announcement, the “Hello” hitmaker took to Instagram to share the news with her millions of followers. She began her post in typical Adele fashion, writing, “Bloooooody hellllll” alongside a photo of her and H.E.R.'s names on a Post-it.
Adele explained how excited and “absolutely terrified” she is to host her first SNL episode. She wrote, “I’ve always wanted to do it as a stand alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right.”
“But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?” she continued. “It'll be almost 12 years to the day that I first appeared on the show, during an election...which went on to break my career in America, so it feels full circle and I just couldn’t possibly say no!”
“I am besides myself that H.E.R will be the musical guest!! I love her SO much I can’t wait to melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs, then confuse myself while I laugh my arse off in between it all,” the 15-time Grammy winner concluded. “See you next week.”
It's safe to say Twitter is “bloody” excited as well, and some fans believe Adele's SNL gig may be proof that she's releasing a new album before Halloween.
The singer previously served as musical guest on SNL on October 18, 2008, and on November 21, 2015. Adele's hosting debut will follow Chris Rock's season-46 premiere, followed by comedian Bill Burr, and Insecure star Issa Rae, who hosted October 17's episode with musical guest Justin Bieber.
