  • Adam Levine addressed questions about The Voice while hosting an Instagram Stories Q&A session with fans this week.

  • When asked if he missed Blake Shelton, the Maroon 5 frontman acted as if he didn't know the country artist.

  • Adam also made it clear that he has no plans to return to The Voice in the future.

  • The "Moves Like Jagger" singer left The Voice in May of 2019 after 16 seasons.

Adam Levine just couldn't resist the urge to take a jab at his former Voice coaching rival Blake Shelton on Monday.

Earlier this week on his Instagram Stories, the Maroon 5 lead singer addressed all sorts of burning questions from fans, including some about his time on The Voice. Hilariously, when one fan asked whether Adam missed Blake, Adam jokingly wrote back to the fan, "Blake who?"

And the shade didn't stop there. When another asked Adam to name his favorite of Blake's albums, the "Girls Like You" singer once again feigned ignorance. "Who is this Blake you speak of?" Adam replied in another Instagram Story slide.

Obviously, Adam was joking around when he claimed to not know Blake. After all, Adam and Blake were known for sparring with one another on The Voice before the pop-rock singer departed the NBC competition series in May of 2019 after 16 seasons.

Despite fans' hopes that Adam might one day return to the show, the singer shut down that possibility when one follower asked him directly if he'd come back. Adam's response was a blunt, "No thank you?"

What's more, Adam revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in October of 2019 that while he misses the show, he doesn't miss all the work he had to do for it.

"I was constantly working for so many years — very lucky, very fortunate, very blessed and all that — but to just be able to stop in this moment to spend time with my new young family and just have the greatest time ever," the father of two told the talk show host. "Now I'm a stay-at-home dad. I just stay at home and do very little."

When Adam departed The Voice, various reports cited different reasons for his exit. While "sources" told Entertainment Tonight that Adam was "burned out" by the show and had "outgrown it," TVLine reported that behind-the-scenes drama while taping the semifinals of season 16 may have prompted Adam to leave. According to TVLine's "sources," NBC's former co-chairman of entertainment, Paul Telegdy, was "furious" with Adam after allegedly witnessing him being "very difficult" during a taping (NBC and Adam's rep declined to comment on the claims made at the time).

Meanwhile, Adam wrote on Instagram back in 2019 that he was "truly honored" to be part of The Voice for so long. In the same post, he also gave a special shoutout to none other than "BLAKE F--KIN' SHELTON."

"I couldn’t hide my love for you if I tried," Adam wrote. "Seriously. I tried. Can’t do it. Our friendship is and always will be one for the books. Whatever this whole surreal experience was, Im just happy I got to experience it with you. You’re my brother for life."

At the time, Blake tweeted that he was having a "hard time" wrapping his head around Adam not being on The Voice anymore. "Gonna miss working with that idiot," the country star concluded.

Long live the Adam-Blake frenemy bromance!
