Child Star Noelle Sheldon Responds to Chandler's 2020 'Friends' Joke

Here's a Jarring Fact

One of the actresses who played Baby Emma on "Friends" just made an epic joke that's been years in the making.

Baby Emma, who was Rachel Green's baby on "Friends," was played by twins Cali and Noelle Sheldon.

Whether we like it or not, those two grew up, and they're now young adults.

They've even kept busy -- for those not in the know, the two appeared in the Jordan Peele movie Us as twins Becca and Lindsey Tyler.

Actually, a lot of people didn't realize this and it's thrown people for a loop.

Birthday Surprise

Noelle and Cali Sheldon played Emma for several episodes, though they didn't appear that much in the show, probably since they were just babies and needed actual nap time and a lot of snacks.

And their mom most likely had something to say about how much time they'd spend on the air.

Emma's All Grown Up

Either way, the new, adult Baby Emma is out there, and she has a sense of humor.

Many will remember the "Friends" episode "The One With the Cake," from Season 10, where baby Emma turns 1 and the friends hold a birthday party for her.

Part of the plot was that Monica and Chandler, who were together by this point, were upset that they had to stay for some crummy kid birthday party, when they could be on a train having a romantic weekend.

What got them even angrier was that Baby Emma was down for a nap during her party, and Rachel didn't want to wake her up.

Ross asks Monica and Chandler to appear on a birthday video for Emma that she's supposed to see when she turns 18.

Since the couple is kind of raw that they're stuck in the city while Emma sleeps, they decide to make a fun, sarcastic comment for the child.

Chandler: “Hi, Emma. It’s the year 2020. Are you still enjoying your nap?”

Monica: “We’re Aunt Monica and Uncle Chandler, by the way — you may not recognize us because we haven’t spoken to your parents in 17 years.”

Wakey Wakey

Since it's now 2020, Noelle Sheldon has announced she's up from her nap.

Sheldon posted a picture of her in front of the "Friends" Central Perk coffee house set and holding the corresponding mug.

"Just woke up from the best nap of all time, happy 2020!! (ft. my poorly done photoshop) Hope everyone has an excellent year full of family, friends, and laughter!!"

Sheldon decided to play the long game, and it paid off in spades.
