Actor Roger E. Mosley Dead at 83

Popular '80s TV and film actor, Roger E. Mosley, has died. He was 83.

His daughter, Ch-a Mosley, confirmed the news in a post shared to Facebook earlier today.

"Roger E. Mosley, my father, your friend, your “coach Mosley” your “TC” from Magnum P.I., passed away at 1:17am [sic]," the post read.

"He was surrounded by family as he transcended peacefully, We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name. It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all. I love you daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy."

Mosley was best known for his role as helicopter pilot Theodore “T.C.” Calvin on the original CBS crime drama with Tom Selleck, Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988), and John Booky in the show's reboot (2019-2021).  But he also appeared in many other classic TV shows and movies from the '70s to present day; such as The Love Boat, Sanford and Son, The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams, You Take The Kids, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, Walker, Texas Ranger, among others according to IMDB.

Magnum P.I. co-star Stephen Hill, who plays the rebooted version of Mosley's original character T.C., shared a heartfelt message alongside a series of photos with fans on Instagram after learning about the legendary actor's passing.

"Rest In Power to the King, Father, Husband, Friend, Trailblazer, Black Power-Man, Coach, Gentleman, Powerhouse Talent, and Mentor Roger E. Mosley. We have all been honored by the example of your life," Hill wrote.

No cause of death has been confirmed by either the family or officials, but according to statements his daughter made late last night, the actor was involved in a major car accident last week that left him in critical condition.

In part, she wrote: "Last week my dad, Roger E. Mosley was involved in a major car accident that has left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. He is in a critical condition but fighting hard. Every effort is being made to care for him during this time."
