The New 'Across the Spider-Verse' Trailer Is Spider-Man Nirvana
Attention all webheads: I have some good news from the world—or should I say worlds—of Spider-Man. The insane images of Across the Spider-Verse's thousands of costumed Spideys are finally a reality. In a trippy new trailer for the animated Marvel film, Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) is taken to a world where a quasi-interdimensional police force of Spider-People is being formed by a Spider-Man from the future—named Miguel O'Hara (Oscar Isaac). Got all that? Good. So, who else is along for the ride, and who will Spidey fight this time around? Here's everything we know about Across the Spider-Verse.
Who Is Miguel O'Hara?
O'Hara is from the year 2099, and he's sacrificed everything to protect the multiverse—every superhero's favorite new buzzword. He's seemingly collected every Spider-Man known to time in his little citadel, but for what purpose? That's still up in the air. Unlike in the comics, O'Hara looks to be the main villain of the film. In an interview with ScreenRant, Isaac described him as, "the one Spider-Man that doesn't have a sense of humor." Scary.

What Other Spider-Men Will Be in the Film?
Aside from losing Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man Noir from the first film, Across the Spider-Verse will see the return of Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), and Jefferson Davis (Brian Tyree Henry). There will also be a legion of newcomers, including Spider-Woman (Issa Rae), Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya), Spider-Man India (Karan Soni), The Vulture (Jorma Taccone), and The Spot (Jason Schwartzman). Plus, we'll see appearances of Spider-Men from television series such as The Spectacular Spider-Man, Spider-Man Unlimited, and the Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows comic, where Peter Parker and Mary Jane have a daughter named May. Needless to say, after referencing the Spider-Man pointing meme in the trailer—it's clear the filmmakers have done their Spidey homework.
When Can I Watch Spider-Verse?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will premiere in theaters on June 2, 2023. It it the sequel to 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and the planned second part of a trilogy that will end with the upcoming Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Make sure to replenish that web-fluid, because it's going to be a long ride.
