ABC Just Cast Its Next Bachelor...and He’s From Michelle Young’s Season!

·2 min read

Big Bachelor Nation news this morning: ABC has *officially* cast its next lead, and we literally haven’t even met him yet. According to the Hollywood Reporter, “the search for the franchise’s next leading man has already concluded” and he’s 100 percent someone competing on Michelle Young’s season.

Previously, Reality Steve had reported that Katie Thurston’s controversial ex Greg Grippo was ABC’s next Bachelor, tweeting back in August:

“What I’ve been hearing the past 5 days or so regarding the next Bachelor are this…been told it’s going to be Greg. Obviously, it’s never ‘official’ until ABC announces it (whenever that may be), but at this point I would be very surprised if it’s not him.”

Apparently, Greg was on ABC’s short list along with Andrew Spencer and several other contestants, but ultimately producers “resonated most with the story of one of Young’s soon-to-be exes, and leaned instead towards giving the newcomer a second chance.”

In regards to this news from the Hollywood Reporter, Reality Steve tweeted, “I’m hearing this for the first time like you all are. I’m guessing it’s true. I’ll see if I can find out who it is. But right now, I’m in Vegas, and football season has started. Priorities.”

So, what else do we know about the upcoming season? A couple things:

  1. Production will begin at the beginning of September.

  2. The season will air in January 2022.

  3. We’ll be getting info on our new host soon!

It’s unclear at this point whether ABC will hire Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe as permanent cohosts or consider giving Wells Adams (who has definitely stepped up over on Bachelor in Paradise) the gig, but we’ll let you know as soon a decision is made.

Be sure to check out Michelle’s contestants below because one of these dudes is our next Bachelor!
