Abby Huntsman says goodbye to 'The View' in heartfelt speech: 'This has been an incredible job'

That’s a wrap for Abby Huntsman on The View. The conservative panelist said goodbye to viewers and the Hot Topics table on Friday’s show with an emotional speech. Huntsman praised her co-hosts and spoke highly of her time on the show, saying, “This has been a dream come true. This has been an incredible job.” The co-host also posted a personal message to fans on Twitter. Huntsman announced her plans to leave earlier in the week and said she’s going to going to shift her energies to helping out on her father’s gubernatorial run in Utah. Her exit also comes amidst reports of a feud between her and fellow panelist Meghan McCain, which Huntsman appeared to allude to in her farewell. “I just want to make it as clear as day — with everything that has been written about this place — that I am leaving so thankful for all the new friends that I have here, for all the friends that I had before and will still have,” said Huntsman. She praised McCain, saying “Meghan has been — you see what she’s been through in her life — you guys live it with us, and it’s not easy every day to come out here and be so open and honest.” McCain and Huntsman slammed reports of competition between each other in an interview with Yahoo in early November ahead of The View’s 5,000th episode. “The media is nasty. They always want women to hate each other and not support each other,” said McCain at the time. Huntsman’s departure follows the exits of previous co-hosts Sara Haines, Jedediah Bila, and Paula Faris, among others. A replacement for Huntsman has not yet been named publicly. Co-host Joy Behar joked, “You can still change your mind.”
