Don’t let holiday prices keep you from traveling on Fourth of July weekend, which is spanning July 3-6 this year. Believe it or not, we’ve found fantastic deals across the country, even in the big cities. Whether your passion is arts and culture or the beach, we’ve got a bargain for you, all hovering around $200 per night and complete with sparklers, fireworks, parades, outdoor-grilling, movies by the pool, and other festive events.

For the holiday weekend, most downtown Chicago hotels, including Acme Hotel and two Kimpton properties (Hotel Monaco Chicago and Hotel Palomar Chicago), are touting rates of $369-$509. Stay further out, in the western suburb of Oak Brook, which is 18 miles away — just a half-hour away without traffic — and you’ll pay only $209 for a posh Le Meridien room. This year-old hotel boasts original art in each of the 172 rooms and is home to a tapas restaurant, El Tapeo, for convenient dining.

When the outdoor temps crank up in the desert, so do hotel deals in Phoenix. At The Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, rates drop to $159 per night on Fourth of July weekend. Or, pay just $90 more per night for an all-inclusive package that folds in breakfast, lunch, and dinner for two (up to $232) daily. This is a fantastic value considering the tasting menu at Wright’s at Biltmore alone runs $76. At this Frank Lloyd Wright-designed property, dating back to 1929, modern alfresco comforts include an outdoor pool and comfy armchairs encircling fire pits. Plus, there will be fireworks, poolside flicks, and BBQs over the patriotic weekend.

There’s no shortage of events taking place over the holiday weekend in Steamboat Springs: stake out a viewing spot for the Fourth of July parade, rodeos, summer ski jumping, roller ski races, and more. While you’re there, get all the comforts of home by staying at a Wyndham Vacation Rental, featuring convenient amenities like dedicated living spaces, kitchens, and washers and dryers. Plus, rack up some savings with 30 percent off three nights or more, or 20 percent off two nights when staying July 2-6 — rates are from $109. We should note, however, that while the deal applies to dozens of rentals in Steamboat Springs, pricing isn’t consistent across all properties. For example, one of the lowest-priced rentals we could find is the one bedroom, one bath West 3239 unit at the West Condominiums, priced from $222.40 for a two-night stay starting on July 3 — that’s just about $111 per night. Book by June 30 using the promotional code JULY4TH.
All sorts of fun is to be had over Independence Day weekend in Park City — minus the snow, of course — like at the 70-float parade on Main Street. You can extend your festivities into the week at a Wyndham Vacation Rental with a special that offers 15 percent off two-night stays or 20 percent off three nights for stays until July 10 — just book by July 8 with promotional code LASTMINUTE. Like the properties in Steamboat Springs, just remember that pricing isn’t consistent across all properties. Rates in Park City are going from $119 per night, which is what you’ll find when you rent the one bedroom, two-bath 103 unit at Copperbottom Inn, for example. A July 3-6 stay totals about $362 or around $120 per night.
