Kelly Clarkson’s son, Remington (“Remy”), made a rare appearance at the 2024 Grammy Awards as the singer’s plus-one. The 7-year-old wore a striking red velvet suit, while his mom rocked a white off-the-shoulder gown by Jason Wu.

The crowd went wild when Tracy Chapman made a surprise appearance to duet “Fast Car” with Luke Combs. The song originally premiered in 1988, and it has been covered several times—including Combs's latest rendition, which was released in 2023.

3. When Jay-Z Snubbed the Recording Academy During His Acceptance Speech

We could easily go on and on about how Jay-Z brought Blue Ivy on the stage to accept the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. But the real kicker was when he called out the Recording Academy for honoring his wife, Beyoncé, with the most Grammys in history (32) yet snubbing her for the most coveted award (Album of the Year). #Awkward

Prior to 2024, Miley Cyrus had been nominated four times at the Grammys. However, she'd never won a highly coveted trophy...until now. The singer broke her losing streak last night by taking home not one, but two statuettes for Record of the Year ("Flowers") and Best Pop Solo Performance ("Flowers").

5. When Céline Dion Made a Surprise Appearance

Céline Dion has kept a low profile since she was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome back in 2022. Her illness didn’t stop her from making a surprise appearance to present the award for Album of the Year. "When I say I’m really happy to be here, I really mean it,” she said.

6. When Taylor Swift Made History

Swift’s most recent album, Midnights, won the award for Album of the Year. This was her fourth win in this category, and as a result, she became the only artist to achieve such a feat. (She was previously tied with Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder, who’ve won AOTY three times.)

7. And Finally, When Taylor Swift Announced a New Album

Many fans thought that Swift would make a Reputation announcement, but that wasn’t the case. Instead, the 34-year-old singer revealed that she’s releasing an all-new album, titled The Tortured Poets Department.

“I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19,” she said. Let the countdown begin.
