Gisele Bündchen became the most searched person in the world after her Olympics opening ceremony strut on Sunday.
The 38-year old bombshell came out of retirement to walk her final runway, which was an epic 1 mile long.
While some thought the walk was a nice nod to Brazil’s most coveted export, others thought it was ridiculous and not at all representative of the country.
Brazil has given so much more to global culture than “Gisele walking.”

But Bündchen, who is now the face of a bunch of hilarious memes after her vigorous dance in the Olympic grandstands, subtly hit back at critics by heaping praise on the ceremony:
“It was very exciting to be part of this special moment. Everyone involved worked with dedication and passion to create a show that gave the world a glimpse of our history and Brazil’s essence. It was beautifully presented. Our Brazilian community is hard working, cheerful, and welcoming. I believe that we showed the world the beauty of our diversity. #gratitude #riocidademaravilhosa #rio2016,” the model wrote on Instagram.
Her husband, Tom Brady, followed suit by congratulating his wife on Facebook.
“Congratulations Brazil on the incredible opening ceremony of the Olympic Games! Gisele, words can’t describe how proud I was to watch you represent your country. I love you.”
