A large part of the show's success is long due to the cast members, especially Chase Stokes, who plays Pogue leader John B. He leads his friend on a crazy treasure hunt after finding a clue from his father. He is 27-years-old.
He was born on September 16, 1992, which makes him a Virgo.
He's appeared in several of your favorite shows.
Outer Banks might be his breakout show, but that doesn't mean you haven't seen him before. He previously appeared in Stranger Things, Daytime Divas, and Tell Me Your Secrets.
He is already a part of another big YA project.
Chase is set to be a part of the One of Us is Lying TV adaptation that will be coming out on Peacock. He will be playing TJ Forrester.
He initially turned down the role on Outer Banks.
Even though it’s hard to imagine anyone else bringing John B. to life, Chase actually originally passed on the project.
"The first time I got the audition it was the most bland email I’ve ever got. It was four friends on a treasure hunt, Netflix, and the character’s name was John B," Chase revealed on Barstool Sports’ Chicks in the Office podcast. "So I was like, 'This is f*cking Goonies. It’s a Goonies reboot.' I said no."
However, after reading the scripts, he actually changed his mind.
"I was there, ‘oh my god, it does not look like the Goonies. I messed up," he said.
He actually auditioned to play a very different character.
While he totally killed it on the show as John B, he actually originally auditioned for the role of Topper, Sarah's crazy ex-boyfriend, he said on Barstool Sports’ Chicks in the Office podcast.
He's also a poet.
Chase revealed on his Instagram page that he's been working on a poetry book and we sure hope it comes out soon!
