Who doesn’t love visiting exotic far-off destinations? The problem is, well, the long flight. After spending 10, 12, or 15 hours on a plane, you will undoubtedly feel some effects once you land, and jet lag is nothing to laugh at.
So to help you bounce back after your next international trek, here are a few tips that we use at Yahoo Travel.

Set your watch to the time of your final destination and behave accordingly. If it’s noon where you are but midnight where you’re going, you need to sleep as soon you take off. It’s the best way to shock your body into the other time zone.
With that said, it’s not always easy to fall asleep. I typically stay up super late for the two nights before I leave so that I can pass out before we even get off the ground.
I’m also personally not a huge fan of sleeping pills, but I do use a melatonin supplement on long flights. Melatonin helps to control your sleep and wake cycles, and your body naturally produces it. I find that taking one at takeoff makes me nice and drowsy and able to get sleep.
It’s also important to stay hydrated. When you’re dehydrated, you feel sluggish and tired, and the more dehydrated you get on the flight, the worse your jet lag will be.

Once you’re back in reality, you might still be feeling the effects of jet lag while trying to go about your daily task. But you’re not out of luck. The Phillips goLITE BLU energy light is designed to boost your mood and energy during the day. And although it’s probably the last thing you feel like doing, getting in a workout can really help with jet lag. If it’s daytime when you land, go for a quick run or walk outside. It will make you feel more awake, and you can do a little sightseeing at the same time.
