There Are So Many Signs That Taylor Swift Is Engaged To Her Longtime Boyfriend Joe Alwyn

Taylor Swift is living her best life in quarantine. She wrote not one but TWO iconic albums, she's finally able to re-record her masters, and she has an adorable boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, by her side. But while Taylor's known for using her music to put her relationships on full blast, she's kept this one under tight wraps. We can only assume it's because he's different. Has she finally found the one and did he already put a ring on that finger? Just maybe. All clues point to yes. Here's are all the signs that prove Taylor may already be engaged.

1. She's wearing a wedding dress.

I too freaked out when Taylor announced she was dropping her second surprise album of the year. Not only because that means more Taylor in our lives (which is always a good thing), but because she literally announced the news in a wedding dress.

Along with her new album, Evermore, Taylor is also releasing the music video to a new single, "Willow." While announcing the news, Taylor posted what seems to be a still from the video in which she's wearing a cream lace dress and floral headband. And, yeah, you can't tell me that's not a wedding dress.

Of course, Twitter started freaking the out when they saw the picture.

PLEASE tell me that Taylor is going to announce she's engaged in the "Willow" music video. It's truly the only thing that can save 2020.

2. She may have "said yes."

While Taylor is not done re-recording her masters, she did release a sneak peek of the newly recorded "Love Story" to be featured in a Match.com commercial. Of course, Taylor fans know to keep a close eye on everything the singer releases and they quickly realized that it sounds like she changed a word in the final chorus.

"Wait why aren’t we talking about the fact that taylor said 'it’s a love story baby just SAID yes,'" one fan tweeted, referencing a TikTok that points out the change. In the original song, the lyric is "say yes," but it definitely sounds like "said" in the commercial. "Is our queen trying to tell us something?" the fan asked.

Now, fans think this is Taylor's way of announcing that she is officially engaged to Joe. "No bc if taylor and joe are engaged im going to scream it’s what taylor deserves," someone else tweeted.

Of course, we have no other evidence, and we can't even say for sure if Taylor really said "said" instead of "say," but I'm going to keep my hopes up.

3. She references a wedding in "Lover."

While Lover came out over a year ago, we still can't ignore the fact that she blatantly references a wedding many times throughout the album, especially in the title track.

When fans heard the lyrics, "My heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue. All’s well that ends well, to end up with you," it didn't take long for them to realize that the line totally relates to an old wedding adage. Many know that brides are told to gather "something old, something new, something borrow, something blue" on their wedding day for good luck.

Then, another fan looked a little closer at an Instagram Taylor posted with the lyrics as the caption and saw that there is a string tied around her ring finger...hmm she could be signifying tying the knot perhaps?

4. She wears a rock on her finger in the "Me!" music video.

Yes, there is a part in the "ME!" music video where Brendon Urie offers her an engagement ring and she rejects it in favor of her new real-life cat. But, did you catch that Taylor Swift can be spotted wearing an engagement ring anyways?

Her fans are pretty sure that's the big secret she's keeping. Taylor revealed the existence of the secret in a comment left by her Vevo account under the "ME!" music video. Taylor wrote, "Oh and there’s a secret in the video I’ve been keeping for months - let’s see who can guess it."

While some people think the secret might have been her new cat, others think the secret is that she might be engaged. Of course, that does mean she's been keeping the secret for quite a while.

5. A source told Us Weekly that Taylor's definitely ready to get married.

The source revealed that Taylor's friends were placing bets on when the two would tie the knot. "Taylor’s friends are all talking about a proposal and how she really wants to marry Joe,” the source said. “He’s her dream guy."

The source also said that Taylor credited Joe with realizing how much better off she is without her personal life out in the open.

6. In December 2018, a source told Us Weekly that Joe definitely wants to propose.

Us Weekly revealed that although the romance has mostly been out of the public eye, the two are really serious about each other and that Joe was thinking about proposing. "Joe is very keen on proposing soon,” the source told Us Weekly. “But he wants to make it unforgettable and extremely special."

7. The two are becoming a lot more public.

In February 2019, Taylor Swift went to the BAFTA Awards' after party to support Joe, who had just won an award. The two were spotted being really affectionate.

In March of the same year, fans noticed that Taylor was wearing a ring with her boyfriend's initials at the Cats' wrap party.

Basically, this engagement has been coming for years, so can it just happen already? We're all ready for it!
