As the decade comes to a close and a brutal election season waits on the horizon, the world is feeling a little colder and more depressing than usual. Luckily, Netflix, Hallmark, and Lifetime are casting embers of warmth in the form of nearly 100 holiday movie offerings in 2019 alone. Some call it excessive, others consider it essential to survive seasonal woes. According to a new report from THR, the "more the merrier" strategy is paying off ratings-wise. Even ELLE.com editors are not immune to the Christmas movie craze. From in-theater offerings to Netflix originals, here's what these creatures of comfort will be watching through the cold winter nights.

The Knight Before Christmas

"Most anticipated Christmas movie? The Knight Before Christmas. Look, I was the biggest High School Musical fan 10+ years ago, so I stan anything with Vanessa Hudgens in it. And given her Netflix track record with The Princess Switch last year, I am especially psyched for a sappy, predictable, cheesy yet festive and spirited storyline. Plus the knight is hot (I see you, Josh Whitehouse 🔥). 2019 has been a bit of a garbage year for me and a lot of my friends. This is just the kind of pick-me-up my holiday season needs."—Alyssa Bailey, News and Strategy Editor

"I've already seen Last Christmas, and honestly, it’s the only thing I need this holiday season. Except, perhaps, Henry Golding all wrapped up in a camel coat."—Julie Kosin, Senior Culture Editor

A Christmas Duet

"I love a good Christmas duet. Christina Aguilera and Brian McKnight. India Arie and Tori Kelly. Justin Bieber and Boyz II Men. But Hallmark Christmas Channel is debuting its very own A Christmas Duet, one of the many films in their new holiday line-up, featuring the hottest man I've ever laid eyes on—How to Get Away With Murder's Rome Flynn (sorry, Idris Elba) and Nashville actress Chaley Rose. I fell in love with Flynn the moment he graced my screen during the HTGAWM season four finale. Now I get to experience my favorite holiday pastime with my new favorite man."—Nerisha Penrose, Assistant Editor

Klaus

"There’s nothing better about a Christmas movie than curling up on the couch with my three nieces and seeing the Christmas wonder light up in their eyes. And since these kiddos have a tendency to watch the same thing over and over, I always make it a habit to introduce a new movie. Netflix’s animated Klaus has all of the makings of a new movie to add to our household favorites list. It’s a fresh take on the origins of Santa Claus and shows how when people work together and believe in something, magic can happen. So this season, I’ll be making the biggest bowl of popcorn I can find, getting four toasty hot chocolates ready, and laughing along with the kids."—Yousra Attia, Photo Editor

Christmas at Dollywood

"My guilty pleasure is a Hallmark movie with holiday merriment centered around a location. Last year came Christmas at Graceland. This year, resident Hallmark heroine Danica McKellar and Dolly Parton are teaming up for a Dollywood-centered Christmas extravaganza. The movie has everything I never knew I needed, including a Broadway subplot and an inside look at Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival. (Plus one thing I always knew I did: Dolly in a reversible-sequin power suit!) At this rate, one gets the feeling that A Very Coachella Christmas will be on the holiday 2034 movie schedule."—Savannah Walsh, Editorial Fellow
