40 Truly Bizarre Rules You Didn’t Know ’Bachelor’ and ’Bachelorette’ Leads Have to Follow
Getting cast as the lead of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette might seem like a dream come true to people whose interests include dating 30 humans at once on national TV (anyone? guys?), but at the end of the day it’s a job. Actually, it’s a job that comes with a bunch of truly wild rules. Like...when was the last time your boss stopped you from reading the news, forced you to date people you’d rather break up with, and took away your cell phone? Hopefully, never.
On-set of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, however, this is 100 percent the norm. Finding happily ever after comes with some caveats, people. Um, especially for Clare Crawley, Tayshia Adams, and Matt James, whose upcoming seasons are even more deranged than usual due to everyone being trapped at a resort during a global pandemic!
We’ve rounded up 40 truly bizarre rules that ABC’s leading ladies and men have to follow once they sign their souls away to Chris Harrison, including but not limited to mandatory STD (and coronavirus) testing, potential $5 million fines, and a level of secrecy that is truly wowowowowow. Like, all these people could come out of this experience and work for the FBI, that’s all I’m saying.
(P.S. The Bachelor and Bachelorette aren’t the only ones dealing with nutso rules. Check out what the contestants are dealing with over here.)
