(Quick note for K-drama newbies: K-dramas are often one-and-done jobs, with a season featuring around 16 episodes that can be over an hour each. Sometimes, they get a second season, but it's super common for it to be fully wrapped up in one season, so don't go thinking, Ah, that show only got one season, so it's probably not that great!)

Not to be confused with Marvel's Doctor Strange, this show does not feature any sorcerors or multiverses!Park Hoon (Lee Jong-suk) and his father were tricked and sent to North Korea when Hoon was a child, and once there, they were denied access to go back to South Korea. Trained by his father, who was a famous doctor, as well as years of medical school, Hoon became a prodigious cardiothoracic surgeon. At medical school, he meets and falls in love with Song Jae-hee, and they plan to flee to South Korea together after Hoon's father dies. Hoon makes it to South Korea but loses Jae-hee. He is accused of the crime, and an opponent attempts to have the death penalty imposed on Cheol. He does not succeed, and Cheol devotes his life to finding the real killer and fighting crime. Ten years later, Cheol is attacked by the same person who killed his family and left on the rooftop of his penthouse, where Yeon Joo crash lands.
