32 "Rich People" Home Designs And Decor From The Early 2000s That Are Extremely Outdated Now
1.First and foremost, any McMansion.
If you lived in the suburbs, there was always a neighborhood with new builds and 50 identical homes that looked like this.
2.A refrigerator that looked like a cabinet made of dark, heavy wood.
It's just, kinda, dark.
3.Overly ornate iron handrails.
We get it, you want to live in a castle!
4.A very thick TV (which was also blurry AF unless you sat in the exact right spot).
This is, like, the opposite of high-def.
5.A Bowflex machine just chilling in the middle of a room.
Gotta show off that big as-seen-on-TV purchase.
6.A massive wooden display case to showcase your huge CD collection.
You wanted to make sure to show off that Celine Dion Falling into You CD.
7.A large armoire to hold your large, boxy TV.
Because TVs were HUGE.
8.Just, like, a chunky TV in general.
No house was complete without it.
9.An extremely large home computer desk that took up half a room.
This was also the *center* of the house.
10.A very large stereo system no one but your parents were allowed to touch.
11.That large stereo system was hooked up to two very large wooden speakers.
These speakers took up some serious floor space.
12.Whitewashed oak cabinets in the kitchen, that usually had brass or brass and porcelain hardware with them.
It was THE look.
13.A chunky wooden coffee table that looked something like this.
It usually had sharp edges that gave you plenty of shin bruises.
14.A "modern" looking lamp that was usually on a desk.
These ones usually burned.
15.A ceramic face mask.
Creepy chic.
16.Wrought iron candle holders you never lit in the dining room as if you lived in some kind of Medieval castle.

17.A decorative display plate — which was NOT meant to be eaten off.
Classy!
18.Blonde wood furniture.
So "contemporary" looking.
19.Decorative herb-infused olive oil bottles cluttered and dusty on a window sill.
Those olives would have killed somebody.
20.A large collection of chunky VHS tapes on display.
What a beautiful, gorgeous stack of plastic.
21.A model-train room.
Because who else could afford the space for an entire room dedicated to a toy train?
22.A massive Beanie Baby collection on display, with, of course, a Princess Diana Beanie Baby.
These were gonna fund your college education
23.A very large SUV in the driveway.
It's basically a monster truck.
24.A fountain or bird bath.
Very SkyMall couture.
25.Glass art vases.
26.An iPod dock built into the wall and would connect with the surround sound.
I just feel bad for anyone who got one of these.
27.A basement bar.
Bonus points if there was a working sink.
28.An old-timey popcorn machine.
Usually in the finished basement.
29.A dark bathroom that looked like this:
It was giving very club from "Waiting for Tonight" music video.
30.A tub of Mentadent proudly on display in the bathroom.
Rich people toothpaste.
31.Anything from the Sharper Image store.
