We here at Men's Health love our television shows and movies. But sometimes, there's nothing more relaxing than settling in with a good book. But finding a book that suits your reading tastes is like looking for a grain of sand in the ocean. There are tons of books out there and it's hard to know which ones will interest you. The first step to narrowing down the list, of course, is to choose a genre.
Sci-fi and fantasy are often underrated genres which have since found a more mainstream audience, especially in television and movies (think Black Mirror, Game of Thrones). At first it may appear daunting to jump into worlds of myths, magic, and advanced technology, but once you find the right author or book, these genres can make a dedicated reader out of you. Sci-fi and fantasy books can often be part of a series or an overall world an author is creating, which means it'll be that much easier to find what to read next. Think Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings, which, depending on your reading speed, could be a whole year of reading for you.
2023 is shaping up to be an exciting year for sci-fi and fantasy (plus a few books with a mix of horror and fantasy). There's astropreneurs building impossible space technology, fairy tale reinventions, dating apps turned into portals to other worlds, and much, much more. Whether you're looking for fantastical twists on modern life or are ready to immerse yourself into worlds completely different from our own, we've got 55 books coming out this year you'll want to add to your reading list.
