3 things to add to your shopping list that can help clear your skin

Healthy skin can start in the kitchen. Dr. Taz Bhatia, an immune support and wellness physician, suggests three things we can eat to help clear our skin. One is apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar helps balance gut bacteria, reduce inflammation and lowers the growth of a yeast called candida. An overgrowth of candida can lead to skin problems like acne and eczema. Bhatia suggests adding a tablespoon of ACV to water or combining it with oil for a salad dressing. “Apple cider vinegar may not be your favorite drink, but it is magic when it comes to your skin, she says. TAZ BHATIA: The foods we eat can really affect our skin. If you're breaking out, getting a lot of rashes, maybe itching a lot more, I've got three things you can try to help clear your skin.

Apple cider vinegar may not be your favorite drink, but it is magic when it comes to your skin. And here's how I like to take it. Maybe take about a tablespoon, and you can dilute it in a couple tablespoons of water and drink it every day. You can also mix it in a little bit of oil, and there you get a salad dressing.

You won't even be able to taste the apple cider vinegar when you do it that way, but it does help do a couple of different things. It balances those gut bacteria, and it lowers something called Candida. Candida is a yeast, and overgrowth of Candida is a widespread problem but almost solely responsible for skin issues like acne and eczema.

Yogurt. Remember, we need that balance of good bacteria to help mitigate inflammation, and inflammation pertains to the skin as well. Acne, eczema, all of those are conditions of inflammation. Yogurt, with all the great bacteria in it, calms the gut down, helps to take inflammation down, and, again, provides the gut with all the good bacteria to help overcome the bad ones so that we can have healthy and clear skin.

Now dandelion tea may not be the most common thing that you're going to think of, but here's what dandelion tea can do. It actually cleanses the liver. The liver is where we digest, process, metabolize all the different hormones and toxins that our body gets exposed to. One of the most common reasons for unhealthy or broken out skin is a clogged up liver, almost like a laundry bag that's never been emptied. Dandelion tea, drinking a few cups of that a day, helps support the liver, which over time can help clear your skin.
