Designing a nursery is always a challenge. It can be hard to figure out what’s essential versus what’s excessive. In this episode of In The Know’s Parenting Wins, hosts Andrea and Jose share their three favorite products for building a functional — and chic — nursery.

“There are so many things that you have to think about and so many things that you have to have together to make sure that you’re not spiraling out of control,” Jose said of creating a nursery.

“I also think the key is to make sure that the products you have in your nursery also have a multi-purpose,” Jose added.

1. The Baby Mod Marley 3 Drawer Dresser, $219

Not only does the Baby Mod Marley 3 Drawer Dresser function as a changing station but it doubles as a three-drawer dresser.

“It’s easy to roll out,” Jose said. “There’s so much space in here. The best part? That changing table at the top — it comes right off. It grows with your child, then it serves as a stand-alone dresser.”

2. SimpleHouseware Heavy Duty Utility 3-Tier Utility Rolling Cart, $36.97 (Orig. $45.99)

This three-shelf rolling rack is great for storing diapers, wipes, bottles, toys or just about anything you can conceive of.

“What I love about this, is its versatility, first and foremost,” Andrea said. “You can use this as a kitchen rack. Or you can roll this right into your nursery as the perfect accessory”

The sleek, white shelf goes with just about any kind of decor or aesthetic. Plus, it keeps your items organized while displaying them for easy access.

“I like to keep this right next to my changing table because it makes it much more efficient for me while I’m changing my baby. You can’t really beat it, to be honest,” she said.

3. Giraffe Shaped Wicker Basket, $119

The ethically sourced woven basket works will add a touch of playful whimsy to any kid’s room. You can store toys, blankets and other comfort items inside.

“My two-year-old son loves to just throw all the toys on the floor and try to ride this thing like a horse around the room,” Andrea joked. “I don’t recommend that but it’s just an exciting addition to any room.”

Andrea noted that all of these products work great in a nursery, but their modern designs and practicality mean they can work in any room.
