When you work a 9-to-5, packing a healthy lunch is often more complicated than it should be. Between working long hours, finding time to go to the grocery store, and having a social life, making lunch at the end of the day often falls to the wayside. But fortunately, we can look to the go-to lunches of nutritionists, dietitians, and health professionals to find the healthiest, most simplistic options. Below, three health professionals describe their go-to lunch in their own words, as told to Greatist:
"When I decide to pack lunch, it's often a black bean, tomato, and corn salad with a dressing made from extra-virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a pinch of cumin."
"Whenever I make salmon for dinner, I'll cook up one extra fillet to pack for lunch the next day. I place it on top of some pre-washed mixed greens and toss in olives, cherry tomatoes, and whatever vegetables I have in my fridge."
"I like to eat tapas style. I'll fill small containers with things like a handful of all-natural beef jerky, a few slices of goat's milk cheese, a couple hard-boiled eggs, a cup of veggies, and hummus."
