Can you feel it? The 60-degree days, the blooming treetops, the chirping birds…ahh yes, spring is here. And what better way to celebrate the change of season than with an outdoor refresh? This year, we’re seeing a slew of new introductions that nail this year’s trends, including cabana-striped umbrellas from Threshold designed by Studio McGee to Tenniscore-style lawn chairs from Hearth & Hand with Magnolia. Here, find 25 of the best patio furniture pieces to shop from Target’s outdoor collection. They’re durable, stylish and best of all, won’t break the bank.

The Best Target Patio Furniture of 2024 at a Glance

The Top Target Patio Furniture Trends for 2024

Naturally, in terms of materials, we’re seeing lots of pieces with the typical powder-coated metal and teak wood builds. It comes with the territory of manufacturing outdoor furniture (since these are durable, weatherproof materials). That said, there’s also been a noticeable shift in the finishes and fabrics of each piece. While last year, there was an emphasis on light oakwood, cane/rattan and textured, chunky fabrics, this year is taking a more quietly luxurious approach (think: Ralph Lauren Home at half the price).

To that end, Shea McGee (aka the designer behind Target’s Threshold designed by Studio McGee collection) says the country club aesthetic will be taking over backyards this year. “TikTok calls this tenniscore and though it’s mainly a fashion trend, we’re incorporating the racquet club aesthetic into our interior styling,” she reveals. Basically, the look exudes a throwback aesthetic of Princess Diana at the country club in the ‘90s. “In the closet, you’ll find this trend in cable knit sweaters, loafers, pleated skirts and tube socks,” McGee says. “In interiors, you’ll find it in crisp whites, creams and playful greens, cabana stripes, rattan, chambray and pristine lawns.” Everything is classic instead of contemporary—and if one thing’s clear, it’s that the Cali-coastal farmhouse look has officially exited the design scene.

1. ModernLuxe Metal Patio Sectional Sofa Set

Target

With seven modular pieces and a price point that makes it more affordable than similar options, this set is la crème de la crème of all-in-one seating. First, because it includes two corner chairs, two armless chairs, two armchairs, one coffee table and 14 seat and back cushions. But what makes it unique is that it has an endlessly customizable design: You can arrange it as two sofas, one long sofa or a sectional—and there’s always room to seat seven people with extra armchairs. On top of that, it’s built with water-resistant, 4.7-inch-thick foam cushions that come with removable, washable covers in a thick performance fabric.

While I’d buy this set for the endless configurations and washability alone, it also features a sturdy metal frame with woven rattan details that nail this year’s racquet club aesthetic. (Bonus: It comes with six pieces of ‘magic tape’ that ensure the pieces stay fastened together).

2. Tangkula Acacia Wood Sectional Set

Target

Need something chic on a tight budget? Look no further than this re-configurable set. First, it’s equipped with thick, high-resiliency foam cushions that are easy to clean with a hidden zipper on the cover (aka no worries if you accidentally spill your drink). Then, the frame is made of weatherproof acacia wood that’s built to resist cracking or fading over time. It can handle whatever you throw at it, and the delicate nylon rope detail makes it a contemporary statement piece. Still, what I love most about this budget-friendly pick is that each piece—whether it's the sectional, table, or ottoman—can be separated and moved around independently.

3. Threshold Southport Patio Accent Egg Chair

Target

With more than 500 five-star customer reviews, it makes sense why this chair has people raving. The thick seat, side and back cushions make it easy to sink in and relax—and the oversized 43-inch width makes it cozy for curling up. Plus, it’s constructed with DuraSeason Fabric, which is Target’s new exclusive recycled poly fabric. It’s ultra durable, featuring water- and fade-resistant material and it’s free from harmful chemicals (making it a great pick for those with sensitive skin). One enthusiastic reviewer says, “This isn't just a chair. It's a Throne. I absolutely love how large it is. There is so much space to sit, or snuggle in and tuck your feet in. It's extremely comfortable. Perfect to sit in and relax with a good book.”

4. WestinTrends Adirondack Chair Set with Fire Pit

Target

After seeing this backyard transformation blow up on TikTok, one thing is clear: The Adirondack chair has made a comeback (see: number 20 on this list). This makes sense since it sticks with the ‘90s country club theme while offering a classic detraction from the contemporary metal seating we’ve seen for years. Either way, it still carries a simple aesthetic: All you need are four chairs with a fire pit in the middle.

Luckily, this set has everything you need—including four chairs with a propane fire table—and it clocks in at just under $1,000.  The chairs not only come in 15 hues (including dark green) but they’re made from weather-resistant polyethylene and a UV-resistant treatment that prevents fading. The 30-inch-wide fire pit is also made from a sturdy, crack-proof steel and it has a heat range up to 26 feet in diameter. The cherry on top? The chairs can be folded down for easy storage when the weather cools down.

5. Cambridge Casual Logan Outdoor Teak Wood Sofa

Target

When it comes to comfortable patio furniture, you have two options: Spend less on quality (and be forced to replace each item season after season) or invest in materials that’ll hold up for years. Realistically, you save hundreds in the long run by spending more upfront, and this sofa is made to last for decades. It’s not only constructed with genuine solid teak wood—cheaper options are made with acacia wood—but it also features Sunbrella performance fabric covers that repel spills and stains like magic (watch this video if you need proof). Add to that the fact that it oozes comfort with 6.25-inch-thick cushions that are deep enough to seat three people.

6. Nobleboro Steel Patio Dining Set

Target

If you’re looking to bring the dark wood furniture trend into your outdoor set-up, this is the dining set to do it with. The dark brown galvanized steel frame features all-weather wicker seats and backrests, and the chairs and ottomans come with charcoal gray cushions for added cushiness and a rustic edge. What’s more, it includes one dining table (which has a slatted top and an umbrella hole), two armless chairs and two square ottomans.

7. Ryegate Daybed with Ottoman

Target

This two-piece set features a metal frame, a daybed and an ottoman with a neutral cream finish that’ll fit (virtually any) decor style. Even better, the daybed also doubles as a cozy loveseat for patio chats at happy hour, while the ottoman can serve as seating or a snack table.

8. Threshold with Studio McGee Valance Outdoor Umbrella

Target

This cabana-striped umbrella comes in a striking green and white finish that makes it totally on-trend. Its 9-foot diameter ensures that you’ll have full coverage no matter which direction the sun is coming from, and its built-in crank system makes it easy to open and close. It’s also constructed with a ‘push-up lift’ and tilt feature that allows you to easily adjust it, and the weather-resistant fabric is ventilated (so it won’t be a sauna underneath).

9. ModernLuxe Sunbed Loveseat

Target

Here, an extra-wide chaise lounger that’s more than just a pretty facade (though, we’d buy it for the clean lines and modern acacia wood alone). The foam cushions offer four inches of loft, meaning they’re extra thick and padded for generous support, and the four reclining positions offer the perfect height to prop your elbows up while you’re tanning and reading at the same time. But the best part? It has a 76.2-inch width, making it big enough for two people to snuggle after the sun goes down.

3. Set of Two Tangkula Chaise Lounge Chairs

Target

Sticking with the theme of comfortable chaise loungers: This set includes two rattan chaises (with weatherproof cushions included) and thick-cushioned lumbar pillows that are just as durable as they are chic. The chairs feature an adjustable backrest with six reclining gears while the bottom’s non-slip, anti-scratch foot pads add extra stability (aka no wobbling). “Very well made. Cushion is thick and very comfortable. I am sitting in it now, getting ready to fall asleep in it,” one Target shopper adds.

11. Calla Canopy Accent Chair

Target

I mean…how beyond is this chair? It boasts a square shape with a steel frame and bamboo-like woodgrain finish while its built-in canopy offers a quirky touch. Not to mention that it provides ample shade, while tufted trim details on the canopy complement the plush cushions that form the back, bottom, and armrests of the chair. Basically, it looks (and feels) like it’s fit for a queen.

12. Threshold Wood Burning Cutout Fire Pit

Target

As I mentioned, Adirondack chairs are making a huge comeback. Yet, the look wouldn’t be complete without an old-school, woodburning firepit in the middle. I love how the removable cutout lid adds a modern flair while being functional enough to keeps sparks from flying out. And since we’re no stranger to spring showers, we’re happy to know it’s constructed from durable, weather-resistant steel.

13. Threshold with Studio McGee Northmont Patio Dining Table

Target

Perhaps the most luxurious-looking option on this list? This contemporary dining table, which yes, is meant for outdoor use. It features a marble-like tabletop that strikes a contrast to its sleek black base while the powder-coated steel frame has a matte black finish that offers a weather-resistant construction. Add to that the fact that it can seat up to six people (and goes with basically any minimalist design style), and you have a dining staple that’ll last years to come.

14. Emma and Oliver Stacking French Bistro Chairs

Target

Yet another timeless outdoor staple we’re loving? This set of two French bistro chairs. They feature a breathable textilene construction—which makes them quick to dry after it rains—and the seats won't fade, thanks to UV protection. Plus, they have durable, powder-coated aluminum frames that offer a natural bamboo look and each chair can hold up to 400 pounds. (Not to mention that they’re stackable and easy to store.)

15. Britanna Oversized Patio Ottoman

Target

With a rectangular base that's constructed in a woven, wicker-like design, this is the perfect way to bring in some extra seating to your space. Plus, it's topped with thickly padded cushions (which, of course, are made to withstand the elements) that ensure it’ll feel just as plushy as it looks. One Target shopper also writes, “It’s way bigger than I expected. I’m so excited we can use it as a (giant) ottoman, a table, or—my favorite—if you push it up against the wall and add some pillows it’s a second couch!”

16. Christopher Knight Home Catriona Wood Coffee Table

Target

Here, my favorite acacia wood coffee table among Target’s latest furniture introductions. The sleek, black metal frame goes with everything, and the beautiful slat paneling offers a classic look. What’s more, it’s crafted with all-weather acacia wood that’s built with durability in mind, and the heavy powder-coated metal frame is designed to resist wear and tear.

Target

Simple, sturdy and under $220, this bistro set basically has it all. It includes two chairs with curved backrests and come with soft cushions which feature a zippered, removable design (so they’re easy to toss in the wash). It also comes with a tempered glass table which is shatter- and scratch-resistant, and thanks to the sturdy and rustproof steel frames, everything is meant to last. Plus, since the cushions are removable, you can swap them out with other styles/fabrics (we have our eye on this striped number that’s fresh off the press from Studio McGee).

$479; $215 AT TARGET

20. Polywood St. Croix Adirondack Chair

target

This chair isn't just a pretty face—it's designed with a contoured seat and a waterfall front to keep you feeling comfortable (not stiff) for hours on end. The genuine Polywood lumber also means no fading, splintering or rotting over time; it can hold up against the elements, whether it's scorching sun, heavy snow or strong winds. “These chairs are even better than I expected. They have a slightly slimmer profile than traditional Adirondack chairs making them look for modern. They were easy to assemble, and they are sturdy and durable. They are clean and classic, and I’m not worried about them being out in the sun and weather,” one Targer shopper raves.

21. Outsunny Hammock on Stand

Target

The brand describes this as a “hammock bed,” mostly because of its breezy cotton canvas fabric and adjustable design. Not only do we love how this guy comes with an included hardwood stand, but its generous 128-inch width can hold up to 264 pounds at a time. It’s also worth mentioning that it’s super easy to assemble—and it’s fit with stretcher bars and heavy-duty hanging loops to prevent from sagging or breakage over time.

$160 AT TARGET

22. Olivia & May Outdoor Accent Table

Target

Decorating a new beach house? Looking to upgrade your parent’s old lake house? This coastal side table is just the ticket. It’s made from fiber clay and burlap, giving it an old shipyard feel, and the weatherproof finish makes it extremely durable, where it’s frost- and UV-resistant (and almost impervious to the effects of weathering, per the manufacturer).

$239 AT TARGET

23. Plant Compatible Privacy Screen Divider

Target

ICYMI, petscaping is the dog-friendly backyard trend of the season—and, if you’re looking for a way to section off your outdoor space, this divider is a great place to start. First and foremost, the screen measures 5 feet tall and just over 3 feet wide (which is large enough to span most apartment patios). But beyond that, what really makes this guy stand out is its plant-compatible design, where its slated wall includes a woven shelf that provides ample space for your florals and other botanical greens.
