🚨Warning: There are MASSIVE spoilers ahead for What If...? Episode 5 on Disney+!🚨

Hi, hello. I hope you recovered from What If...? Episode 4 and are ready to dive into the next episode. So here are all the details I noticed in Episode 5, aka "What If...Zombies?!"

If you're new to these posts, welcome, and I apologize for all of my nerdy yelling! If you're returning after my weekly WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, AND Loki Easter eggs/details posts, thanks so much for coming back!

1.First, "What If...Zombies?!" is based on Marvel Zombies, which was a five-issue comic book run that first debuted in 2005. The series focused on another Earth where there were zombie versions of iconic Marvel heroes.

2.The episode begins with Bruce/The Hulk falling through the Bifrost to Earth, and it's basically a shot-for-shot re-creation of him doing the exact same thing in Avengers: Infinity War.

3.If you look closely, you can see that Tony is wearing the nanotech suit he first debuted in Avengers: Infinity War.

4.Something to point out is that Steve, Tony, Natasha, Clint, and T'Challa are all fighting together when the zombie outbreak starts, which means they either patched up their differences from Captain America: Civil War or, in this universe, they never split apart.

5.Also, you can see Natasha rocking her post–Civil War blonde hair AND she's wearing Yelena's vest from Black Widow.

6.Peter makes a vlog about how to survive the zombie apocalypse, which is exactly like when his vlog about Captain America: Civil War opened Spider-Man: Homecoming.

7.In Peter's vlog, he mentions that Happy loves boxing, which is a nod to when Happy and Tony boxed together in Iron Man 2.

8.Meanwhile, Sharon's skills include "eulogies," which is a nod to her giving the eulogy at Peggy Carter's funeral in Captain America: Civil War.

9.Also, since Sharon is on this Avengers team, it means in this universe she never went to Madripoor after Captain America: Civil War, thus proving how different this timeline is.

10.You can see that Kurt, who starred in the Ant-Man movies, is wearing his X-Con jumpsuit. Kurt worked at X-Con Security Consultants alongside Scott Lang, Luis, and Dave.

11.In this universe, you can see that the clock outside Grand Central has not been changed to honor the first responders from the Battle of New York — in Avengers: Age of Ultron, we see that the clock has been changed.

12.When Happy drives the team to Grand Central, you can see that he's driving the van Scott, Hope, and Hank used in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

13.Happy's go-to weapon while fighting the zombies is an Iron Man glove, which is similar to a gadget Tony used in Captain America: Civil War while fighting Bucky.

14.Peter eventually gets Doctor Strange's cape after it helps him fight off some zombies, and in What If? Issue #19, Peter actually wears a similar-looking cape.

This comic follows what if Peter pursued fame instead of anonymity as Spider-Man, so he wears the traditional Spider-Man outfit and a cape to a movie premiere.

15.Of course, Bucky tells Zombie Captain America that it's the "end of the line," which is a reference to Steve and Bucky's iconic saying.

16.Peter mentions Uncle Ben when talking to Hope about the people he's lost, and this is actually the first time his death has been directly mentioned in the MCU.

17.Peter, Bruce, Bucky, Hope, Kurt, and Okoye eventually make it to Camp Lehigh, which is not only the original base for S.H.I.EL.D., but also where Steve trained in Captain America: The First Avenger.

18.Kurt mentions a witch named Baba Yaga, who he also mentioned in Ant-Man and the Wasp. In the comics, Baba Yaga is actually a Russian goddess who uses witchcraft. The character even clashed with Captain Britain.

19.Vision is able to save Scott by un-zombifying his head, but in the comics, it's actually Janet van Dyne's zombie head that is kept in a jar.

20.While T'Challa is missing a leg and has been held captive by Vision in this episode, in the Marvel Zombies comics, a similar thing happens to T'Challa, except Hank Pym is behind it.

21.We find out that Vision has been feeding a Zombie Wanda because he loves her and can't bare to live without her. This is a direct flip of WandaVision, where Wanda kept an entire town hostage in order to keep Vision alive.

22.Of course, Vision dies — literally it's like the fourth time this has happened in the MCU — and he's killed by grabbing the Mind Stone from his forehead, which is exactly what Thanos did in Avengers: Infinity War.

23.And Zombie Wanda kneels near Vision's dead body similarly to how Wanda does in Avengers: Infinity War before she's dusted — it's FINE, I'm FINE.

Also, if you look closely, Wanda is wearing her outfit from Captain America: Civil War.

24.The team escapes Camp Lehigh in a Quadjet, which was also used by Monica, Carol, and Fury when they travel to space in Captain Marvel.

A lot of times in the MCU, they fly in Quinjets.

25.And finally, T'Challa tells Peter and Scott how death is not the end, which is the same thing he tells Natasha after his father is killed in Captain America: Civil War.

Hearing Chadwick Boseman say these words again broke me.
