Though Charli and Chase Hudson are on good terms now, they weren't back in July 2020 when Chase confessed he kissed Nessa Barrett when they were both single. However, Charli, his ex, wasn't having it. She responded to Chase's tweet with a shady one of her own. That tweet has since been deleted, as is another one of Charli's where she subtweeted, "I hope she was worth it."

2. Griffin Johnson

While we all know Griffin's ex, Dixie D'Amelio, won the shade game with her now-deleted TikTok exposing Griffin for allegedly cheating on her, Griffin had some choice words of his own about her and Noah Beck's relationship.

Speaking on the BFFs podcast in November 2020, Griffin said, "I'm not saying this because I'm mad or I'm trying to throw them under the bus ... but since you asked me, it was weird, dude." He explained that Noah and Dixie had "this best friends group" and they would take trips to Malibu together.

"It was weird stuff like I thought about it and was like, this is weird, but I'm not a weird boyfriend, I'm not going to be like, 'No you can't go,'" he continued, seemingly implying Dixie cheated on him with Noah.

3. Sommer Ray

Sommer and Tayler Holder briefly dated in summer 2020, but then unfollowed each other on Instagram. Sommer also posted some cryptic tweets that seem to throw shade at her ex. One was simply, "Your apology needs to be as loud as your disrespect was."

Later, Tayler started getting cozy with Charly Jordan — who he's now dating — and Sommer wasn't having it. "Girl code doesn’t exist to some b*tches, I swear," she tweeted, presumably referring to her ex-friend, Charly. Pap Galore later asked Sommer in September 2020 how she and Charly were doing. "I don’t really care about her," Sommer said.

4. Asher Angel

On Valentine's Day in 2021, Asher posted a TikTok of himself lip-synching lyrics to Wintertime's song, "Thru It All": "I don't do this shit for fun / B*tch I'm really trying to stunt / So I can pull up on my ex / And make the hoe feel dumb." Fans took this to mean he was shading his ex, Jules LeBlanc. TikTokRoom shared how Asher allegedly liked one comment about Jules (who used to go by Annie), as well as another comment.

Not long after that happened, Asher and his current girlfriend, Caroline Gregory, made a live and Caroline accidentally read a fan's question about Jules out loud. Both of them laugh and Asher later said, "That was funny. That was really funny." TikTokRoom shared the video and Asher commented with laughing emojis.

Moreover, Asher reportedly liked a comment someone wrote that said he looked happier with Caroline, suggesting he wasn't as happy with Jules.

5. Abby Roberts

In February 2021, Abby posted a TikTok where she turned her private story into album covers. It was a fun video, but fans lost it when they saw her burning a photo of her and her ex, Noen Eubanks.

6. Danielle Cohn

At the start of 2021, Danielle posted a video with Desiree Montoya where they explain that Danielle's ex, Ethan Fair, and his girlfriend ran into them at a drive-thru. So, Danielle and Desiree flipped them off and blasted Big Sean's "I Don't F*ck With You." Ethan shared his side of the story and was not having it.

7. Rachel Brockman

In March 2021, a fan asked Rachel if she was "still with the f boy," meaning her ex, Brandon Rowland. Rachel just said no and added a lol for good measure. Notice how she didn't deny he was an f boy. Two months before that, Rachel posted two subtweets that were allegedly about Brandon.

8. Alissa Violet

During the seventh part of Shane Dawson's docu-series, The Mind of Jake Paul, he interviewed Alissa about her relationship with Jake. According to her, Jalissa was never real; they never dated. But they definitely flirted and hooked up, with Alissa claiming Jake strung her along.

In between clips of Shane interviewing Alissa, he included clips from TheHollywoodFix.com. Two of the clips showed a camera being thrust into Alissa's face, asking her about Jake and her thoughts about him putting her in the header image for his new diss track. "Who?" she asked. "I don't know who that is. I'm sorry. I know Logan though, he's awesome."

The cameraman then asked if Logan was a better kisser than Jake. "Oh, yeah. For sure," Alissa confirmed.

As Alissa started to walk away, the cameraman asked her if she thought Jake's girlfriend, Erika Costell was a "cheap, Walmart impression of [her]." She replied with, "Who? Oh, Jake's assistant?" Double shade!

9. Jake Paul

OK, Paul's entire breakup with fellow YouTube star Alissa Violet was totally and completely messy. Both threw shade right and left, but Jake took it one step further with a rap video (cringe). "And you know I kick them out, if they ain't with the crew / Yeah, I'm talking about you, you beggin' for attention talking shit on Twitter, too," he rapped. While the dig itself isn't that great or clever, he does get ~creative points~ for doing it in a full-length rap vid.

10. Zayn Malik

In his 2016 Billboard interview, Zayn subtly shaded his ex, Perrie Edwards. He said, "I need a challenge. Also, I like girls that are a bit chunky in certain areas – the nice areas. I like a fuller woman. I enjoy an intellectual conversation as well, where someone can construct a sentence beyond what hair and makeup they're wearing, and talk about something political or about the world. I like an opinion." Ouch.

11. Taylor Lautner

Taylor dated Taylor Swift for a hot minute back in 2009, and their breakup was allegedly the inspiration for T-Swift's song, "Back to December." In 2016, while promoting the second season of Scream Queens, Taylor Lautner did a Facebook Live stream with co-stars John Stamos and Lea Michele.

Lea brought up how Taylor used to date the pop star, which Taylor then called "hilarious." When Lea then asked if she wrote a song about him, Taylor responded with, "That's what she does." He then again said the whole thing was "hilarious."

The "Kill Em with Kindness" singer decided to get shady with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber after he threatened his fans he would make his Instagram private if they didn't stop hating on his then-new girl, Sofia Richie. SelGo called him out and he captioned on IG, "It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love."

Unperturbed, Selena shot back with, "Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love."

13. Miley Cyrus

Remember how heartbroken Katy Perry was when Russell told her — via TEXT — he was getting a divorce? Remember when he also compared their sexual relationship to that of a monk's?

"When you're a monk, you're not allowed to have sex with anyone. When you're married, it's one person. That's one more than a monk. It's not that different," he reportedly said. "I'd be having sex thinking, 'think of anyone, anyone else.'"

The Shade Queen has never let Joe Jonas (or anyone, really) forget about the time he broke up with her via a 25-second phone call. She mentioned it on Ellen, on SNL, and even on MySpace. "See, this one even comes with a phone so he can break up with other dolls," Swift teased while holding a Joe doll.

Though Meek deleted the 'gram, screenshots are forever.

"Who doesn't enjoy watching entertainment at the circus?" he wrote in one, adding, "Children want attention" in another.

20. Britney Spears

Is anyone really better at shade-throwing than Queen Britney? Probably not. In response to ex Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" music video — you know, the one where he used a Britney lookalike — Brit told Rolling Stone, "I think it looks like such a desperate attempt, personally. But that was a great way to sell the record. He's smart [laughs]. Smart guy."

She also wore that famous "Dump Him" T-shirt back when Justin was supposedly getting cozy with Alyssa Milano.

21. Rihanna

Bella's former make out partner and friend totally shaded her on Twitter after he saw her and YouTuber Tana Mongeau becoming a thing. In a tweet that's since been deleted, Blackbear shared a pic of a news article covering Bella and Tana, then showed his followers he marked it "irrelevant."

Later, Bella got the last laugh, tweeting at him with some epic shade: "You didn't seem upset when we talked 30 min ago about having a threesome lol."

The queen of getting back at her exes, Taylor allegedly shaded Tom Hiddleston in her song "Getaway Car," off her new album, Reputation. Based on several lyrics, Swifties deduced Taylor used Tom as a way of getting out of a relationship with Calvin Harris. Plus, Taylor apparently knew her relationship with Tom wasn't going to work out, but she still went and (briefly) dated him anyway. Giiiiirl.
