Cancellations, Series Finales, And Cliffhangers: Fans Spill What They Would Do With More Seasons Of These 22 Iconic Shows

We asked members of the BuzzFeed Community to let us know what shows they believe ended far too soon and what storylines they would've liked to see explored! Here are some of the best ideas that will definitely have you glued to your couch for that sixth marathon-watch:
1.Agent Carter
"It was such an amazing series! I always hoped they would show what happened to Howard at the end of Season 2. He's still fun-loving and easy-going, and I would love to see what turned him so bitter. I also hoped for more Red Room tie-ins, hinting at what Nat and Barnes went through during that time without explicitly mentioning them (yes, in my mind, Nat will forever be enhanced like comic book Nat and not whatever the movies came up with). And more Daniel and Jarvis! Basically, I loved Agent Carter so much more than everything post Phase 2. Please bring it back."

"It was a hilarious post-apocalyptic show that followed a teenage boy trying to find his girlfriend (as one does), only for his happy ending to be ruined when she becomes the new villain. It totally should have been explored more."

"Jack grew and changed so much throughout the show, and I wanted to see him build a life in Toledo and let go of his thoughts of who he should be and where he should be in life. I would’ve loved to see him settle down with Lynette."
6.Hannibal
"I would love for Hannibal to return and for them to get into the Silence of the Lambs storyline. The creator and cast still want to do it; make it happen!"

"GLOW definitely needs a final season. What happens to them all? Do Sam and Ruth ever get together? I need to know!"
8.Insatiable
"Controversial opinion, but hear me out: Insatiable. This Netflix show got a lot of criticism because the trailer gave people the impression it peddled the message that thinness equals happiness. But the show repeatedly showed the main character realizing that her problems didn't disappear because she lost weight. A lot of the issues she faced were directly or indirectly caused by her selfish behavior. Was the show flawless? Far from it. It's stupid, campy, and ridiculous fun. But with another season, I think they could have had Patty face her own behavior, take responsibility for her actions, and wrap up the massive cliffhanger Season 2 left off on."
9.Infinity Train
"I would love for Infinity Train to come back, ideally a season with new protagonists that showed a new part of the train."

10.Lie to Me
"We were just getting somewhere with the main pairing of Cal and Gillian. After a couple of seasons where we saw how they met, the trials they went through, and the whole 'will they or won't they' thing, we never got a resolution. Plus, the final episode sees Cal having a conversation with his daughter, touching on the subject of how well he and Gillian would work as a couple!!! So frustrating. 😭"

11.Julie and the Phantoms
"The show ended on a massive cliffhanger; all the cast loved the show and wanted a Season 2. Fans have been lobbying for a Season 2 since the first one came out. Not to mention, the music is amazing!"

"Back around 2005, there was a show called Masters of Horror that had famous directors of the genre create a single, contained story for one episode. I mean, you had greats like John Carpenter, Takashi Miike, and Dario Argento all contributing. It would be really neat to see an updated version with contributions from newer directors like Jordan Peele, Ari Aster, and Robert Eggers."

"It was a devastating show, [with] an incredible cast, hugely dark plots, and some hilarious moments... I loved it so much. Two seasons wasn’t nearly enough, and it was just when the scope of the show was starting to expand to something bigger."

"They left it wide open for another season, and then it got cancelled! Who are the bunker people? Who gets out alive? Is their life worth living in the end? We need to know!!"
15.The Midnight Club
"I love Mike Flanagan, and I love that he gave us the full story when the show got cancelled. I know where it was meant to go because he told us, but it would have been nice to see. He's such a great artist; he creates these amazing shows and films, and I often rewatch them just to experience the artistry behind the shows themselves. The Midnight Club was a fresh and experimental show; there wasn't anything like it. It was so beautifully made, and there was so much love in it. The cast performed so beautifully, and I wish we could have seen more of it. But I'm so glad he gave us some clarity. He gave us the closure a lot of shows end without giving their viewers. (Gosh, that sounded so deep, but if you've had a show cancelled on you, you get it.)"

"Yes, it was cheesy at times, and killing Susan Sarandon in the first episode probably wasn't the best decision, but I loved it! Trace was phenomenal, and the messiness of the siblings was cringy in the best way. The finale left every [loose] end untied, so I'd love for a network to pick it up. Revive, please! Who's with me? We ride at dawn!!"
17.Raising Hope
"I would have liked a better ending for Raising Hope. It just ended with them eating a meal at dinner, which was so normal? Usually, there are some hijinks or something crazy happening, but there wasn't, and they had just brought in a new character (a grandparent), and it seemed like they were building up to something with them, but they never did. I binge-watched the entire series for the first time and was surprised that it ended so...dimly? It didn't even feel like a season finale; it was just a very boring episode. I wish they did a time skip, at least showing an adult Hope explaining what happened to her parents; did their new jobs as children's authors/illustrators hit it off?"
18.Santa Clarita Diet
"I loved Santa Clarita Diet. I was fully invested, and then it was cancelled and ended on a cliffhanger! Can't they do a movie wrap-up? Joel was about to become one of the undead! How can they just leave us hanging like that?"
"Definitely Santa Clarita Diet! It was such a good show and had a brilliant cast. I was gutted when it ended; I would’ve loved to have seen how Joel handled the zombie life!"

"She-Ra and the Princesses of Power!! We deserved more than, what, two episodes with Adora and Catra? Give us a season — I'd even settle for a movie of them all being friends and working together to help restore the universe! There is so much more potential than where they left off."

"I need to see Park Hae-young and Cha Soo-hyun reunited. And for them to meet Lee Jae-han in person in the current timeline they are in and solve new cases coming their way. I even want to see Hae-young grapple with his mortality after he was shot and nearly killed in the former timeline."

"It was logical to end where it did, but I could never say goodbye to that show. I would’ve loved to have seen how Kate, Kevin, and Randall navigated life after the loss of Rebecca."

"Now you can call me dramatic, but it won't change that at least on a weekly to bi-weekly basis I think about who fathered Becca's baby (I know, I know...we're not supposed to ask her that). And I needed so badly to see someone take Lexie and Campbell down (I'd love to see Elle get some revenge on Campbell, and honestly, anyone can take Lexie down) because they were annoying. And I'd sell, like, 10% of my soul to see Grizz come back and first reunite with Sam, and secondly, to see him slap some sense into the Guard for messing up the minute he left. And then finally, where the actual hell are they? We saw the dog at the end, back home."
"I will never shut up about that show's awesome plot, great characters, and acting. Season 1 ended with multiple massive cliffhangers, and it got renewed for Season 2 but ended up being cancelled due to the pandemic. I would give anything to bring that show back."
