For all the popcorn lovers out there, a new popcorn-making device has risen with the kids on TikTok. Known as Sur La Table’s Glass Microwave Popcorn Popper, the device makes it so easy to pop kernels, it takes but a few minutes to make your movie theater buttery goodness.
There are plenty of home chef and beverage devices that have been going viral on the Gen Z-famed app, and it’s easy to see why this one is another success. Though the Glass Microwave Popcorn Popper only has 24 reviews and a four-star rating at Sur La Table, the popcorn maker gained steam online after user @madelineleblanc5 shared a video using the nifty device.

“To all my popcorn lovers,” the user wrote, “this is the BEST present I’ve ever gotten.”
The video shows @madelineleblanc5 adding Orville Redenbacher’s Gourmet Popcorn Kernels to the top of the silicone lid that measures out the right amount of kernels for a full bowl (or jug rather) of popcorn. You can go the healthy route and go butter-free, but if you’re like this TikTok creator, they added their desired stick of butter on the top of the silicone colander-like lid and let the butter seep through as it melts and the kernels pop in the microwave. And if butter isn’t enough of a topping for you, this creator added the butter popcorn seasoning from Kernel Season’s Popcorn Seasoning Mini Jars Variety Pack.
After garnering over 830,000 likes and more than 3,300 comments, the popcorn maker is a hit among young people. And if you want a buttery movie night like this TikTok user, the Glass Microwave Popcorn Popper is available at Sur La Table for $25.

One customer explained it’s still a hit for those who are vegan.
“I put a little spoonful of vegan butter on top of the lid (not inside the glass bowl because it gets all soggy). Then I sprinkle the butter with a little salt and cayenne pepper. It takes about 3:30 for it to pop.”
Another customer claimed that this popper makes a perfect batch of popcorn.
“It makes perfect popcorn every time, whether I make the full amount or only a partial popper full. And the butter drip at the top is genius! I place 1-2 tsp of oil and my salt in the popper, add the corn and shake to mix.”
